    If I had to pick a rifle for just deer hunting and it meant short and long shots. I'd pick a .270. I'm old school and would choose a Win 70 for a rifle and of course a Leupold scope. Then if you decide to hunt for elk too. The .270 would be fine with a good bullet.

    Try the zoo. It will build up your confidence. No bullets. Shoot cotton balls. (don't get caught)

    My chances are slim too but they get even slimmer if tags keep getting less of them. I talked to the DOW about it and they have no clue. What's new huh?

    Nobody is concerns that the tag you put in for in the 2nd draw are changing before the draw? Didn't you put in for a unit depending on how many tags were available?

    How can the number of tags change in the 2nd draw? I thought those numbers were locked in? Archery was 4 tags when I applied. Now it's 3 tags. Muzzleloader was 3 tags and now it's 2 tags.

    I changed my plans. I changed my 2nd draw pick to muzzleloader. Even though there's only 3 muzzy tags in the 2nd draw and 4 tags in archery.
