    Hunting Colorado 46 years ago was pretty nice. It's still good. You just can't go to popular spots. Most of the time popular spots are popular because it's easy hunting. Elk hunting isn't easy.

    That's a tough question. Elk can water any time of the day. Sometimes twice if it's hot enough. Any chance the owner can make a water hole?

    Elk and deer are all up high now. Even though I live at 8000ft. That's winter range here. They're up at timberline at 11,500ft. I haven't started to go up and watch them yet. I'll start this week. However, it's always hunting season. We can hunt for coyotes all year and I have no love for them.

    Elk will travel pretty far to get water. I'd be more concerned that they have food and shelter. Can someone do some scouting for you close to the hunt?

    I'd imagine Colorado wouldn't be the state with the most elk if we had seasons that long. You'd have to be a pretty bad hunter to not get an elk with seasons like that. Some of the rifle elk seasons here are only 5 days. I hunt the muzzy season and get 9 days. Archery gets 30 days which I always...

    Nope! I consider elk meat the best meat on earth. It cost me $100 to hunt for elk including the price of the tag. Break that down and see if beef is cheaper.

    Typical Barnes bullets. It's hard to beat them. All those petals sticking out are cutting everything they touch as the bullet spins through the game.

    I bet I scout more than most. I don't need cameras. Why do you think some states are going to outlaw them or already have. Some take 400yd shots. Some sit in trees over bait. Do as you please because the kill is what's important right? Go ahead and laugh. I am too.
