MT Poll: (R) Gianforte, (D) Busse, or (L) Leib.

Thanks Sytes. That was a helpful read. I am truly on the fence with this Senate race and need to make up my mind.

    RIP Frank Fritz

    Farewell to the "bearded charmer".

    RIP Kris Kristofferson

Very sad to see this. I saw The Highwaymen in concert in a large arena in New York and it was a great concert. The guys I talked into going with me told me repeatedly for months what a great idea it was to go. Then I saw him perform a solo concert in a small bar (the Buffalo Rose) in Golden...

Mule Deer & Migrations with Dr. Kevin Moneith

Excellent conversation. Highly recommended to anyone interested in mule deer (or pronghorns) and scientific research. @Big Fin what was the name of the book/author you referenced about road crossings? Would be interested in reading that.

    Trekking Poles

Agreed - thirty-something dollars and work great. Like having four legs instead of two - well maybe not quite, but for sure makes both uphill and down easier on a guy.

    Horizon

Saw it in the theater and really wanted to like it, but the plain truth is Horizon has a long, long, long way to go to be able to even sniff Lonesome Dove. Overall very disappointing. I won't be surprised if these are such money looses that the third and forth installments never make it to the...

Crater Lake NP - Oregon Caves NM - Redwoods NP - Lasen Volcanic Park

Hello All, Just got back from our trip and had a great time. Drove from Montana to Crater Lake NP for a couple days there including hike to Scott Peak (highest point in the park) and to the top of Wizard Island, then stayed in Medford overnight before proceeding the next day to Oregon Caves NM...

    Guess the tow bill

Very happy to hear no one was hurt. Must have put a real damper on the vacation though. After hearing this it makes me glad I am not towing my trailer on upcoming 1800-mile road trip. This was clearly an HD Silverado (can tell by counting the lug nuts in the third picture), so either a 3/4 Ton...

Crater Lake NP - Oregon Caves NM - Redwoods NP - Lasen Volcanic Park

Thanks for all the feedback. With the fire closing Lasen we are substituting Lava Beds National Monument in the far northeast corner of CA. Don't have to worry about smoke underground, but am concerned about it tainting the views at Crater Lake. Still going to go through Crater Lake on the way...

Crater Lake NP - Oregon Caves NM - Redwoods NP - Lasen Volcanic Park

Considering options for a family trip in August. One option is a road trip to see Crater Lake National Park, then Oregon Caves National Monument, then Redwoods National Park, and lastly Lasen Volcanic National Park, before heading back to our starting point in western Montana. Might pull the...

    Tillamook Oregon

If you are into aviation, space, or history, the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville is well worth the short drive. The Spruce Goose is there along with two huge buildings full of exhibits.

@SilentBirdHunter - can you PM me the name of the window company you were researching? I live in Missoula and am looking at having all the windows in my house replaced and want to make sure to avoid these guys. Thanks.

Mule Deer Foundation Dinner - Missoula

I have to admit that the room was pretty noisy when the regional Montana rep was speaking so I didn't listen very carefully. I do recall him saying that 80-something percent of every dollar earned goes to mule deer related conservation projects, but no reference was made as to where. The guy...

Mule Deer Foundation Dinner - Missoula

Went and had a good time. There was about 300 people present. The food was only average, but there was plenty of it. Also a cash bar. There were a lot of raffles, 20-something live auction items, and about twice that many in the silent auction. About 30 guns available along with art, ammo, a few...

Mule Deer Foundation Dinner - Missoula

Out of curiosity I just did an internet search to determine if there is a Mule Deer Foundation event coming up any time soon in my area and turns out the Dark Horn Chapter Banquet if tomorrow in Missoula! Anyone here ever attend this event who can recommend it (or perhaps warn me off)? I have no...
