Hey ya'll. New guy from south Georgia, soon to be DIY hunting out of Ennis, MT.
Hunted south of Ennis several years back. Some pretty country. Plenty of elk. I would suggest you make friends with someone with stock especially for the Madison range or planning on backpacking in and staying a few days. Gravelly side, good luck. What was your first big game rifle, and do you still have it?
Yep. Marlin 444. Saved up and bought it myself, about 40 years ago. Took plenty of whitetails with it. Would love to tag an elk with it one day. I’ve taken it a few times, just haven’t worked out yet. -
What is your single top hunting season goal this year? I expect updates damn it.
Oldest son was in a bad accident last year, so hunting was minimal, especially for him. We have some whitetail trips planned for this year. Goal is to spend time with him and for him to harvest any legal deer.- CUElk

Seafood in smoker.
Same here. Being on the east coast we cook a lot of seafood. Never had any issue with my meat having any fish taste whatsoever- CUElk

Yeh, that was awful. Of course the ump behind the plate was fired by MLB. He’s awful. I don’t have a dog in the fight, but was pulling for oru. Hated to see them lose.- CUElk

How to get the smoke smell out of bear hide
Ozone will definitely help, needs to be in a chamber. If you have access to a machine, you could probably clear out a closet and set it up in there. Contact a local Servpro and ask for suggestions. Some sunshine and fresh air will do wonders too.- CUElk
