Got this buck yesterday about 4pm. Decent 8 pt rack but probably my biggest bodied NC deer. Didn’t have a scale but he felt plenty big enough getting him out of a creek bottom to where I could drive my atv.
In my T3 270 Hornady Superformance ammo is a tight fit. Never had any issues with any factory ammo in any of my previous rifles which include 4 Winchesters, a Remington and a Marlin.

My Dad started me with a 270 when I was a teenager and I'm still using one at 62. Haven't ever really wanted to shoot a bear but I have killed a bunch of deer, some antelope, and a handful of elk with it.
On my elk hunt last fall I carried a total of 9 rounds during a day’s hunt in including what was in the rifle. For the whole trip I packed two 20 round boxes.
That's very big accomplishment in that area. Back in the late 1990s when I was living in Denver and just getting started hunting turkeys I tried to pursue those birds for a couple of years. I felt I'd really done something the few times I found any turkey sign or heard a gobble.
