Mountain bucks from the past (but not from the Rockies)

Ended my NC spring turkey season in a strange way last Sunday
I asked him if these diseases could adversely affect the population in the area and he stated that at this time the NCWRC did not think that they had a significant effect.- DRS

Killed a second gobbler last Sunday morning but it wasn't much of a hunt. After seeing a gobbler acting strange in a winter wheat field Sat. evening I ended up basically walking up on him the next morning in the same field. On the board in NC. Last Sunday morning called in a hen and two gobblers into a small isolated field and shot the strutter about 7 am. A pretty good turkey for around here. 20+ pounds, 10.5 " thick beard and 1 1/8" spurs.- DRS

300 H&H Magnum Load
My late father bought a 300 H&H Rem 721 new in the 1950s and it was his main hunting rifle from that time until 2002 when killed his last deer with it. I've had older Leupold Vari-X II 2x7 on my CVA Accura since I bought it 8 years ago. It been a deadly combination for me. -

Gun Safe in the garage?
I've had one in my garage in the NC coastal plain since last Feb. It was not where I would have liked to put it but it was the only place I had room for it. I've been using the electric dehumidifying rod and also put some of the silica packets in there last summer. So far everything in it has... -
