On the FWP's website it says they only issued 125 tags. Looked at Gohunt, previous to 2020 the number of tags given was below 100. Perhaps im missing something?
1 shit frame pack, 2 mystery ranch, 2 stone glaciers. I've learned over time just buy expensive one time and get it over with. Realistically you need a day pack and an expandable multi day pack/ frame pack.
I went out and helped a buddy who had a breaks elk tag a week ago. Same story there, we actually boated in to camp and found out of state people already there. We figured we should talk to them, they were totally happy because they had all shot small 4x4's and were leaving the next day. Anyhow...
Id go with a 15 degree and then also get a cocoon mummy liner you can throw in incase it gets colder than expected. Those liners generally add 10 degrees of warmth to a bag. Also if your in a tent that gets a lot of condensation then Id recommend a Stone Glacier, they seem to have some water...
I wouldn't say you HAVE to go up or down. Ive seen plenty of bulls at the same elevation as the cows, just off by themselves. They are just much harder to find. Its alot easier to glass up a big herd of cows than a lone bull bedded behind a tree.
I tried the Stone Glacier M7 Pant this year and have really been liking it. Amazing to be waterproof but also have the ability to unzip the sides and cool down when going uphill. Definitely a bit pricey though, that being said they would probably last you the rest of your life.
So much salt in this thread. After the last legislative session everyone here was onboard to donate and form new lobbying groups. Just a few months later there's no more talk of that, just bitching about everything. Call me crazy but how is anything going to change if we keep repeating this...
Its unreal how stupid some people are. I almost can guarantee you whoever did that drove 30 minutes out from Belgrade or Bozeman. Doesn't make sense, you'll drive all the way out there to dump a deer but wont just take it to the actual dump.
If you go to the area off the logan exit please be respectful. I live out in that area and Ive watched in the last two years the shooting traffic on that area explode. People leave stuff everywhere, giant targets, elliptical machines, dishwashers, thousands of rounds of brass, shotgun shells...
We found out the day of the wedding that the venue didn't have any cans of beer, only keg. So what is a guy to do when you want to shotgun? You turn to the claws. I cant say I would recommend it haha
Has a state ballot initiative ever been considered ? Im sure landowners would take it to court if it did pass but at least then there would be an answer to the question.
