    DIY Black Bear

Yes, I would do it with hounds. I love shooting with working dogs.

    DIY Black Bear

I dont think I would mind, so long as it was spot and stalk. Prefer mountains but not tied to that idea.

    Fallow Deer

Yea, I would say thats the same for 99% of the UK; they just dont get the chance to get old or big as they move around farms too much and get shot.

    DIY Black Bear

Now, I'm jumping a little far out there as I dont plan on doing my next DIY hunt for Elk until 2022 but is possible / a reasonable expectation to do a DIY spot and stalk hunt on black bear as a non-resident Alien (from the UK)? If not, what would a chap be expecting to pay to go with an...

    Fallow Deer

These are all wild. I have seen much bigger, just never with a rifle! One day on the back of the shoot beating cart we went past 6 mature bucks all sitting out in a wheat field in the sun, not a care in the world. Those boys pictured above would have been the smallest of that group.

    Fallow Deer

I couldnt say on the population numbers but the estate borders a large forest which is a nature reserve and all the estates and farms surrounding it are shooting similar numbers. I have seen herds of over 300 animals during winter.

    Fallow Deer

I am lucky to be able to stalk the deer on a 6,000 acre estate in Suffolk, UK. There is a very large population of fallow deer and the estate culls around 250 deer annually. Here are a couple of the bucks I have taken.

Hats off to the guys that shoot big bulls

Im inclined to agree on B&C / SCI. Im not saying the European CIC scoring method is perfect but it does take into account more aspects of the antlers such as weight, condition of tips, points deducted for imperfections, etc

    Red stag in the rut

This took place a few years ago thanks to a friend who had invited me out a few times post rut in previous years and although we saw deer every time, we never connected. well, this time we were out in the rut and spend an evening sitting over an area which had thick scrub in front and 300m...

    2021 Wyoming Antelope Hunt

Credit to you for your generosity. Someone took me out in WY last year for my first trip in the US and I am very grateful to him. Nice to know there are decent guys and gals out there willing to help someone out.

    Any close black bear encounters?

Last year in Rocky Mountain National park I was sleeping in my vehicle outside the park (wasn’t sure what day I would get there, so no accommodation booked until the following evening). So, I’m there in my sleeping bag, seat fully reclined and fast asleep. About 3am the car door swings open and...

    Whats your guess on score

Sorry, my comment was tongue in cheek but didnt come across. It was meant that I would be ecstatic with any mature ram.

    Whats your guess on score

I’m trying to work out how you could go 34 days of hunting and not shoot either of them yet!
