    Insulated Layer

Interested to hear what people are using as their main insulting jacket / hoodie. It doesn't have to be waterproof as I have a separate layer for that and will be layering up underneath but looking for an insulting outer layer from when its not raining. It also doesnt have to be a hunting make /...

    Taxidermy “issue” how to handle?

I would raise it with them, no harm can come from it. One thing I would say is that the only time you look at taxidermy up close is when you get sent close ups / first receive the mount, after that its high up on the wall and you wont notice any little imperfections.

I know what you mean, I only have space to brew small amounts (8 pints at a time). However, the upside is if you brew a bad batch you dont have a lot of waste.

Not enough deer being shot in the UK

When I wasnt in London I would shoot 50-80 deer a year off an estate I stalk, as part of a cull of around 200-300. The population was still growing!

    Bird Dog Affordable Options?

Thanks to COVID, people being locked up and the sudden need for a dog, Labrador puppies have been going for £3-4k each in the UK. That's not even health tested, hip scored parents or from working lines, just people breeding to make some money.

    Interesting......

Already starting in Europe and the UK. Places like Germany all animals must be shot with non toxic. Some game dealers in the UK are also starting to insist on non-toxic bullets.

Can you talk me out of getting a GSP

This thread seems to be turning into a debate on the benefits of upland hunting with a GSP. I don’t think anyone will disagree they are well suited to that. However, the OP does around 40 days a year on ducks and 3 or 4 on pheasants. I don’t think anyone will disagree a lab is best suited for him.
