I'm proud of every elk I've taken. 3/4 of those had no antlers. I don't so much remember each animal, I remember them by who I was with and the conditions we were in. I've never had a bad day elk hunting.
As said above, it's not the brand but the gun itself. I inherited some a cpl yrs ago, valued from a cpl hundred dollars to a cpl thousand. My favorite is probably the cheapest of the lot. It was the gun my dad used for all his deer and elk and I was with him the last time he used it. I'll part...
I get 1-1.5" groups at 100, I sight it about 2.5-3" high at 100 for a 200 yd zero. I shoot a marlin xlr, I believe it's a 24" barrel. Shot a deer at 150 yds quartering away this year, found the bullet on the opposite side in front of the shoulder, good mushroom, weighed 120gr on retrieval. It...
I got a stone glacier solo this year. Have also used mystery ranch. Mystery ranch has more pockets and such, weighs a fair ammt more. I prefer the solo, hands down. Very light weight, shrinks to nothing behind my back and basically bare bones, only 2 pockets. Has an integrated meat shelf(works...
Thanks for the replies, took the stock off, wiped things down & a cpl very small, seemingly insignificant chunks off dry grease came out. Put it back together & now holds three as it should. Guess it doesn't take much to foul it up in there. JR, my first gun was a ruger with the ugly stock on...
I'm going to take the stock off tonight and look, pretty sure my dad never did and he isn't around to tell me if it has had this issue all along. Will report back what I find. This rifle makes me appreciate all my guns with floor plates!
Hi, my dad gave me this gun a cpl yrs ago, I just shot it this fall. It was made in 1966-67. I am wondering how many rnds it is supposed to hold in the magazine. I ask because two go in no problem, third is a lil snug to put in the magazine, however, it will not come out easily at all, the bolt...
Had a wolf cross my tracks while hauling a load out, didn't miss him by 20 minutes, and had a lion scream at us from a couple hundred yards away, my wife did not like that. I love that area, but lots a predators
Got my bull, a 6x7 yesterday, i'd post a pic, but for some reason it isn't letting me. I quick measured him at 322" gross. There were a couple others his size, a couple rag horns and some cows. Shot him with a 270 at 425 yds. I have never gotten a mature bull, they are an entirely different...
Hi all, was wondering if anyone has dealt with these folks, I'm looking to get a new stock for an old rifle that was handed down to me. Thanks much for your help
