Looks good!
My dad had his euro’d years ago and tried to convince me to do the same. I was 50/50 until I walked up to this guy, and thoughts went straight to shoulder mount.
I have been fortunate to get a bighorn sheep, and now moose. Hopefully a goat soon, so part of the influence was having...
My biggest problem is I’m not sure I have space in my place yet, no matter which way I go haha
I’m definitely more interested in a nose down kinda pose, 45* or so angle from the wall, for that exact reason. Thinking slight turn to the left to see the inside of the one paddle a touch more (side...
Congrats!
What state/unit were you in?
I filled my moose tag a few days ago, and a little sad it’s over. Hope some friends of mine get one some day so I can go again. Some of the most fun, but frustrating hunting I’ve ever done. It’s amazing how such a big animal can disappear in a matter of seconds
Found a young bull moose tangled in probably 40’ of barbed wire. While I was moose hunting. At least I knew I was in the right area! Sad they go that way, but got 2 moose racks out of the hunt in the end
Looks like he’s got a slight left turn to it?
This looks very close to what I was thinking. Really like how much the the nose is pointing down, vs. out
Posted in "After the shot" as well, but thought it may be more noticed here.
I Was lucky enough to fill my Montana Moose tag on 10/5.
Antlers are at the taxidermist, and looking for ideas on how to mount him.

Lets see what ya got!
That’s things sooo heavy. And the posts in the beginning, say you should be able to fit a volleyball in the curl. Not always. There’s no way you’d fit a volley ball in that, gotta look for the mass, and make sure the mass is carried towards the ends, like this one (extreme example though).
As...
I would guess the road to SA would be ok. We never saw a ton of rain when we were there, but it seemed rocky enough (not dirt), so that it wouldn’t turn into “gumbo”. It sees a lot of traffic for the elk viewing, so they may keep it maintained better.
I never have, and never will shoot a cow. I like antlers too much. I had a “great” (hardest to get but maybe a bit overrated) either sex permit in MT last year. Multiple opportunities at cows and spikes, but never even nocked an arrow for them.
Tag soup sucks, but I don’t regret my efforts for...
I had a sheep tag for the Elkhorns years ago (12 years ago I think). I was only 15 or 16...so don’t remember a ton of what I learned, but I may still have some old videos my dad picked up for the pre-hunt that helped a ton with judging sheep. Goes through all kinds of things to look for, and...
