Selling my Horn Hunter full curl system pack and bino harness. It's been on 3 hunts and only packed out one animal. Pack is great quality and has tons of features but it just doesn't fit my thin frame very well. Had zero issues with it. It includes the frame, day pack, large bag for multiday...
I've met Michael in person, really a standup guy. He was running late to a seminar but took the time to stop and chat with me and my kids and get a pitcure. Besides Fresh Tracks, western hunter is probably my favorite. Skull Bound TV is another pretty good one
I think that's my problem now. I love the features of the pack I have now, it's the fit thats the issue. I ordered it online without being able to try it on. I may look into ordering and return policy of MR, Exo, etc
I've been to the Rocky Mountain Sporting Goods in Cody, WY but I really wasnt in the market at the time. Most if not all of the trade shows I've been to near home were centered around whitetails and not western hunting of course. I would love to attend one of the western hunting trade shows.
My question is not so much about brands of packs as much as finding one that's most comfortable for me. I have the Horn Hunter full curl system which I absolutely love for all of its features and different compartments. My only issue, albeit maybe most importantly, is that it's not that...
That's what I had read several places though I dont have first hand knowledge of it. I thought I had seen where they'd became more temp stable much like Hodgdons extreme line but I could be wrong on that.
I used to hear that RL19 was very temperature sensitive but I believe that has since been resolved. RL19 showed the highest velocity on about every manual I looked at.
I like the idea for alternating years with elk. My buddy and I will be in a similar situation in 2021 hopefully. The odds of us both getting elk in a week of hunting would be very slim, not to mention the logistics of coming all the way from NC with enough coolers and gear to haul 2 bull elk back.
I've used H4350 and H4831sc with good results. RL 19 is supposed to yield good velocity. I've been wanting to try something a little slower like H1000. Powder capacity might he an issue with that one
I have seen several deer shot perfectly and dead within 100 yards or less with no blood or hair. All were without exit holes though. I agree that lots of deer are lost because people just assume they missed. I shot a buck a couple years ago at 20 yards with my muzzleloader. Looked for 2 hours...
