    I saw on one of Randy's recent videos describing his layering system that he only wears a base layer with the timberline pants. I wonder if that would be enough for me as the temp dropped into the teens or colder haha. Maybe I'm just accustomed to the weather of the southeast.

    As stated above whichever you go with, using them on a tripod is a gamechanger. At least it has been for me. I have no problem identifying game at a mile away with my 10x50 leupolds

    The 300 has a the edge when running heavy for caliber bullets, say 200gr and up and still maintain good velocity. Still doesn't mean the 06 cant accomplish what you're looking to do
