I certainly see Matt's point and I take it into consideration, but for me, ego isn't the primary driving feature of my social media. I frankly really like seeing others hunts and I also equally enjoy sharing. This space to me is one giant campfire where we get to share hunting stories. Sure...
Up until last year, I would've said how could you ever have someone else in your scope, but now I realize there is some nuance to these things happening.
I'll first tell you my story and then speak to what I suppose happens in many of these cases.
Last year, the first Monday of our whitetail...
Not me. Oh well, on the losing side of random. Much better than preference points.
When one door closes another opens. Off to learn another state. Anyone want to share some CO hotspots? Only kidding :)
I wear two-week contacts all year, except when I'm out West hunting were I switch to one-a-days. My ophthalmologist recommended it. They don't add much weight and at the end of the day you throw them out. Wash your hands when you wake up (I use alcohol wipes) and put the new pair in.
It had been 15 years so I figured it was time for a new bow. I shot most everything the bowshop had to offer that met my specs. I'm very happy with what I ended up with.
While I really liked both Biko and Theresa, I just didn't see what they did to survive in comparison to Clay. Granted it could be selective editing, but I basically watched Biko starve himself for 70+ days. He's an absolute gem of a person, but for me, the correct person won. I'm not interested...
This guy was 5.5 by cementum annuli.
This herd bull was 7.5.
This whitetail was 10.5!
I love getting the age. Makes the story that much more interesting IMO.
I've done it quite a few times. I have a soft-sided cooler (polar bear 24-pack) that will hold quite a bit of fish. If possible, I freeze the fish and use the cooler as a carry-on (no weight restrictions). If not above 50lbs I will sometimes check the bag as it stays pretty cool at 30k feet...
Thanks. Queen snapper and hogfish are the next two for me. There's a few elk hunting videos there that you'll probably be interested in. Hit the like button on the videos if you enjoy them. It helps them get more views on the Youtube algorithm.
I've basically been wanting to catch a lake trout since I was a little kid. Finally scratched them off the fish bucket-list up in Vermont with my wife last week. They're only moderate tablefare though. I'm going to have to try smoking them.
