The southern units aren’t what they once was. Even unit 70 has been disappointing. Too many tags and it’s not patrolled enough by F/G. Many times I’ve heard of locals hunting it with a Gen tag.
I normally hunt 73a but man it’s been so over hunted lately. I usually always see a 170+ buck and I...
Long story short, my NR buddies didn’t draw I did.
I personally don’t like hunting solo. Maybe I like the company, maybe I like a second opinion on hunts, maybe I like a second pair of eyes or maybe I’m scared? 🤣
Headed in on the 8th with tent and stove. Have a good area to go to. Plan to find...
I’d check out moosie’s catch and release camo they have a pretty sweet program where you can turn in the camo back to the company and get the next size up.
I’ll have a few baits up there this spring. I did catch a big track in a different area. The black bear population has grown quite a bit up there. 5 years ago I had never seen any sign or a black bear. Now this year we ran into three and got a pic of a sow and cub on the pond we sit at.
ahhh ok. Thanks guys. Like I said I’m ignorant with bears.
He texted this to me and then called and told me the story.
I’d like to see the pics from the NRs that got the photo
I’m definitely not an expert on bears lol can’t judge them to save my life either.
Drew a good unit this past spring for bear killed what I thought was mediocre. Ended up going 19-3/8 lol
Yea I had been in there all September and October helping buddies out with their elk tag they drew. Didn’t see any sign.
Buddy in September was bluff charged by a black bear but that’s all we have seen in there.
Anyone else have information on this?
My dads buddy that hunts with a different camp came across a couple grizz tracks just north of Georgetown. He also talked with two nonresident hunters that had pics of the sow and 2 cubs.
Anyone know the hunters?
Dads family has been hunting the area...
Someone turned in a great controlled hunt muzzleloader tag for an area that is my backyard. I know the area very well. Hunt dates are November 16-30 in Idaho. I was lucky enough to be the one that picked up the tag. Only 20 total tags given out.
School me if you will, on how this hunt might...
Agreed. Only a few areas that are somewhat remote. If youre hunting it, I know a ranch that usually gives permission for people to hunt, just no atvs. All walk in. You can pm me.
Theres a reason we in Idaho call it the war zone or 7 day war. TON of people. But, it can be done. My suggestion, get back as far as you can before the ones on horseback.
