Has anybody done this in reverse?
I am in a similar situation except I am leaving Colorado (going to Wyoming). Technically the regulations read that you must be a resident when you apply or purchase the license (similar to Montana it seems). I contacted the CPW (through the askCPW link on...
+1 to Bowhuntrben. I've never hunted the area but have fished the stillwater lakes 5-6 times and there are always a ton of people (hikers and campers) if the weather is decent off the main road in. If you start taking the roads off the main road numbers start dropping pretty quick (non-hunters...
At 17 years I would recommend replacement and I second (3rd?) the high efficiency. Will be higher upfront costs, though with needing to replace the flue anyway that will be mitigated some and there are often financial incentives from utilities and tax credits as Kaitum mentioned (this site...
Bought the First Lite Uncompahgre Puffy for my wife in Realtree Max-1 (http://www.firstlite.com/uncomprahgre-puffy-rt.html) and turns out the men's small is still too big for her. Can't return as was on clearance. $120 to your door.

There are also a couple other RH/LE threads floating around but couldn't find them right off
My guess for the fine is they'll spend more than the $5k (or whatever the reduction ends up being) in legal fees to prosecute and procure the full $10k, so its worth it financially to plea down.
Not a defense of anybody involved here but you do also have to factor in the $5,000 donation to the RMEF. I do agree $86 for the accomplices is pretty pathetic. The Colorado "Samson Law" dictates an automatic $10,000 fine for the illegal hunting of a trophy animal (defined as 6+ points for elk)...
Received my wife's antelope tag 2 weeks ago and her deer tag today, my elk refund on the 18th, and my deer and antelope tags this last weekend. Still waiting for her elk tag. Seems to be pretty random...
Some good info here: http://www.roaringforkanglers.com/fishing_report.htm and here: http://thecoloradoangler.com/fishing-report/
Rivers for the most part are very high and dirty. I personally would stick to reservoirs, but I have seen people in the rivers in the last couple weeks (though not...
1. From Big Game brochure pg 2:
PREFERENCE POINT FEES
» HOW IT WORKS. If you do not hold an active 2015 annual* or big-game license, or
do not receive a license through the draw, you will be charged $40 PER SPECIES (for
elk, deer, pronghorn and bear) for which you get a preference point. This...
Applications are per species, so yes you can have different methods of take for different choices.

Elk247 - Without knowing the exact intricacies of the process I can't say for sure, but I don't think you would ever be "passed by" unless all the tags are drawn out. If your number gets drawn, you would get a tag.
From Big Game brochure:
"HOW GROUPS ARE AWARDED LICENSES:
Each hunter’s application must be submitted
separately. Groups are assigned a number. If
that number is selected in the draw, everyone
in the group gets a license. If the group is
selected and there aren’t enough licenses for
everyone...
