A lot of truth on here. Only thing I will add is that every kid is different and your experience from one to another can also be wildly different. Our first was a tough sleeper, pretty fussy and woke up at 5 am every day…still does wake up way before everyone else. He has turned into a nice kid...
I bought my wife an EXO with the short frame and she loves it. I have an older EXO with a lot of miles/animals on it. Still looks new after a wash in the tub. Best pack on the market IMO. My hunting partner has an SG and there is no comparison. Better design, better materials.
Exped winter lite MW. I have a neoair as well that seems to get a new hole every time I use it. The exped has been bombproof, warm R5+, and light over 4 seasons.
I think there is a real danger that with all the rushed changes and confusion there isn’t going to be a unified resistance to a lot of the proposed changes to Eastern MT elk. Unlimited archery tags and a 50% increase in either/sex permits simply achieves the original goal through different...
Nevada has mandatory reporting. It takes about two minutes to complete and if you don’t do it you can’t apply in the draw. It is pretty simple and clearly isn’t dissuading anyone from applying.
is it fair to summarize at this point that we should be pushing for the acceptance of the “unlimited B tags on private ground in over objective units” motion and reject all the other amendments, ie maintain the status quo, until the new elk management plan comes out?
I brought this up because commissioner Bayorth mentioned early in the discussion that he was concerned about the prospect of unlimited archery tags leading to overcrowding. The fact that the limited permit system was enacted to solve that problem is worth pointing out during this comment period...
Am I correct in remembering that the whole limited entry archery elk permit system in the eastern part of the state was created largely because of serious overcrowding complaints from public land hunters?
Agreed. A pretty jaw dropping statement. I was surprised though, and somewhat encouraged, by the flak directed at Worsech from a number of the commissioners. They are hearing what we are saying.
The info session was very interesting. The serious elk discussion starts around 1:10. They are already throwing out one of the major proposals on changing the limited entry to general on private because of the firestorm of public comment. If you are testifying tomorrow this is an important...

Wow...I got back from four days in the mountains last night and woke up to this. So much for protecting the resource or respecting the will of the people. Dirty politics at its worst with no real chance for public input.
I hope all you good Montana sportsmen and women will go round up some unicorns for the 2022 state elections. With GG still in office the 2023 legislative session could be another real “fun” one.

Are there any particular senators we should be addressing our comments to for SB 354. Since it’s back on the senate floor the messages can only be directed at five.
