Nothing yet. Had clouds yesterday. Nothing over night. Radar showing something green just to our south. Until it hits me in the face hard I'm not buying this 70% chance today.
Boise area had a 200 acre fire last night. All of Idaho is dry this year.
Central Idaho is extremely dry. Storms suppose to be coming in starting tonight. But not holding my breath on receiving any moisture of any amounts. One new fire started yesterday in a weird spot. No lightning for a while. Hunter caused? Who knows. BUT! STOP and think before starting a warming...
Nothing yet. Too much smoke and hot in central Idaho this past week.
Got a depredation tag other half got his cow but the elk have vanished for me. Too damn many stupid road hunting bowhunters! Even on the mountain where we were seeing elk they have taken off to part unknown.
Dog selection on some of these smaller breeds here in Idaho are very limited. If you do find one they want way more money than we are prepared to pay.
Love the Griffons but there again few breeders and they are starting their pups at $1800 and up. Way out of our range.
Knowing us if we can find...
Great dogs. Friends have one now did have a couple of them old age got them.
Be ready to pay big bucks for one. Don't know of any breeders or names of the breeders.
We thought of jags but don't think the budget would let us in either buying one or vet bills. Also thought of Jack Russels also the same thing cost of buying one and vet bills.
We're in our 60's and the thought of keeping one of these jet fueled little guys busy and wore out just might kill us...
I can not tell you how many dogs I've/we've owned in my life time.
Right now have a Black Mouth Cur. Would like to find a small breed of dog next time. Who knows?
We've had Blue Heelers, Kemmer Stock Mtn Curs, Walker hound, Red Tick hound, Redbone hound. Been around Springer Spaniels and...

I'm using several different map sites this is the newer one I'm using now. https://idfg.idaho.gov/ifwis/maps/realtime/fire/
It isn't hard to use, but doesn't list all fires for some reason. Mainly the newest ones...
Yeah, the Trail Creek isn't looking good either if comes back down into Idaho low enough it'll be a nasty insane mess with all the houses in that part of the world.
Now have the Haynes fires on the mountain just SSE of Salmon between the 2 highways. Sounds nasty and burning like a banshee.
Mud Lick fire, the Black Bird and Cobalt mines and all along Panther creek to the Salmon river have been told to evacuate the area. Idaho Power has shut down the power line from Leesburg in to that area. On top of all of this we have more storm coming in on Monday with some moisture and...
Mud Lick most of the roads are closed into the area. Can't get to the Craig's now.
Midnight the smoke was coming into the house so bad the other half looked out the door to make sure there wasn't a fire close by.
Haven't seen clear skies or the mountains for a week now.
It isn't a good time to...
Dixie fire has a spot fire just above the Jim Moore place at Campbells ferry. It's slowly headed to Mackey Bar.
Trail Creek can be seen on the Lost Trail Pass webcam looking SE.
Mud Lick is growing and they are prepping private houses along Panther Creek. Even heard they expect it to make a run...
Central Idaho Salmon/Challis forest, BLM and state lands going into Stage 1 fire restrictions July 15. Guess it's going to stay on until end of September unless we get enough rain to ease the drought.
We're getting everyones smoke can't see over a mile.
All junior water right holders were cut...
Dixie Fire is closing in on 14K. Right now finger running down to the Salmon River.
Campbells Ferry down to Mackey Bar are all under close watch to evacuations. Fire peeps figure it will jump the Salmon River some where and head into the Payette Forest.
It's so dry in the state of Idaho right...
It is starting. Dixie Fire took off yesterday to 4,000 acres. The small town of Dixie has been told to evacuate. Those of you who hunt the Red River country may not this season.
An actual fire lookout that can read maps give Township, Range and section and can read and operate a Alaidade fire finder.
Retired 2 years ago from a fire lookout.
My dad told me: "There are going to be jobs in this world that you need to do. You don't want to do them but you have to do them. So get up off your lazy ass and get it done!"
I've found that those jobs you dread the most usually turn out to be the easiest and most fun ones. So I never put them...
Ok, why do you need a campfire in 100 degree temps? It's the first thing every camper builds the minutes they park.
Boise suppose to hit 112 Tuesday. Central Idaho 102 Tuesday.
I'm not looking forward to the start of the week.🥵
Retired out of wild land fire. Fought a few fires, worked as a fire...
