    Women’s Hunting Apparel

All hunting clothing makers seem to think women only want looks nothing that is durable. No sizes at all if you have any size to your shoulders or hips. Never worn women's clothing. Just buy mens and find everything works great for me. I have First Lite, KUIU outer wear and really like their...

    Randy Newberg!!!

Well guys I did it. Got my cow this morning at about 250yds. About a 600 yd pack out up hill of course. I have no idea how to add photos. Used my Browning Hells Canyon long range in 6.5 CM with the new Vortex HD Razor. Love that scope. Don't think my hips would take another pack out.

    Randy Newberg!!!

Other half went back in yesterday morning and brought out the front shoulders with no problems. We're moving today but still stiff and sore. Only have 5 more days to hunt until the end of our season. Hoping to connect but I'm hoping for something close to a road. No up and over a ridge.

    Randy Newberg!!!

I'm calling you out!! You need to quit making these videos! You make it look so easy and you take an army in to help you haul it all out! Not really. Thanks for the video's and helping two old hunters get better ideas on elk hunting. You just need to do a video on sagebrush elk hunting. Other...

If you drive around the west without mudflaps

You really don't need mud-flaps. Got a rock into a new windshield last month from a car. The worse tires to throw rocks are the soft snow tires and states that use rocks to sand roads. Oregon is the worst state for that. The best time to replace windshields is in the spring after sand/plow season.

A bit of a an crappy day in a horrible year......

NECALI, that is true with the wooden floors. Ours are set on gravel/shale. Also up on railroad ties. Can see them going up easy especially with heavy pine needles around.

A bit of a an crappy day in a horrible year......

Grouch, if you have the room buy a one trip shipping container and store the heirlooms and such in it. Lockable, waterproof, fireproof storage. Yeah they don't look pretty but they are tough.

(Questions/Advice) Wife wants to start hunting

WanderingWI, I love my first lite long underwear. I'm built more like a tank so don't/won't wear women's apparel. Most won't fit my shoulders. I been around hunting since I can remember and have always wanted to hunt. So don't have any way to communicate to other women how to hunt or want to...

    Womens hunting boots

MTelkHuntress, glad you found something that works. I don't think anyone has any worse feet than me. I have small wide feet. Either the boot companies have changed their sizing or at my age my feet have changed greatly. I wear mens sizes when I can find them to get the width. Danner women's...

Be Careful With Your Fires This Season!

It is not uncommon for wild fires to burn through the winter months and to come back to life come late spring. Doesn't happen much and only know of a couple of stories about it happening from many years ago like in the the 50's or so. Sounds like the duff was thick and deep and it had all the...

    Budget E-bike

No such thing as a budget e-bike. Subscribe to a E-bike magazine just wanted to see what was on the market and learn a thing or two about them. It's amazing what they are building out there. The prices are unreal though. Find a E-bike mag and read up on them.

    Log splitter

Have a 22ton splitter. Had it for close to 20 years. Have had no problems with it. Don't need much bigger than that for Idaho wood. Ponderosa pine with the big knots will make it groan but we quit cutting them for firewood. Just make sure the splitter had a Honda motor. Ours has a Briggs and...

High Country Mule Deer Trip - Lessons Learned

Weather peeps are basically all saying in Idaho Sept will be very dry and warm to hot. October is going to be a whole different critter. Cold temps and wet from rain to snow through November. La Nina~ is setting up the end of Sept. It's very tinder dry in central Idaho right now. We won't drive...

    Side by Side UTV

Had an older Commander it was our first and it was okay. Started hurting our backs and it was really hot to hot at times to drive in the summer. Bought a 2019 Defender 1000. It fits us better no back problems. Easy on gas and goes any where if we're brave enough to go there. Limiting factor is...

    How's your fire season going?

Actually Idaho has been quite slow. My old district (newly retired) has been dead this summer. Which I'll take a fireless summer. Especially Forest fires.

Fire season is here in the west

August 21 all BLM lands go into Stage 1 fire restrictions in Lemhi, Custer and Butte counties in Idaho. New fire in Copper Basin called Muldoon 200 ac so far. Oregon east side keeps getting more and more fires. Lightning next 2 days in Cali, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho and so forth. Bear Creek fire on...

    Garden Harvest

Diamond hitch, probably not to far from you. Central Idaho here at 5200 ft. Use a lot of greenhouses and hot houses. Wind is a big problem here. We had a fire this past week too. The only good thing is everything goes up in elevation from here to keep the summer snows at bay.

    Garden Harvest

WildWill was going to ask where in the hades you live. I see in sunny warm midwest it looks like. Our season is a month behind and everything is struggling big time. Have planted and replanted until I'm blue in the face. You're doing good! Hoping to get something before the frost comes and...
