Looks like the RoadTrip 285 may have more space between the grill and lid than the other RoadTrip models. I'll see if I can find a place that has it and a Weber to compare in person.
It's time to replace our gas grill. We have a recteq pellet grill that is great for bigger cuts of meat or family meals.
I'm looking for good options for quick meals like burgers or brats. Usually I'm only cooking for 2 so I don't need a big grill. My thought is that if I buy a portable...
Thanks for the replies and well wishes. I'm feeling a little better than I did in October, but still sick and still no diagnosis. @F250 yes, Lyme was one of the many tests I have had.
@RevJim I used a .30-06 150gr Barnes TTSX, factory loaded.
Here is what I saw last night in Idaho. The phone camera picked up more color and brightness than I could see.
Nearly too bright to see the Big Dipper constellation.
So sorry you're going through this, Dave. You have been through things I can't imagine, and have done so much for her. We're all here to support you in this difficult time.
I need to make time to do that well ahead of hunting season. I processed my elk in the evenings after work, and their customer service line was closed. Once I got it done I mostly forgot about the situation until I saw this thread.
I have tried grinding meat at a range of temperatures from cool room temperature to partly frozen. Since the chilled meat just starting to stiffen still had trouble, I left one tray in the freezer until the meat was firm but still could be compressed with my fingers. A few thumb sized chunks...
It's supposed to make it so you get the texture of two passes through the grinder on the first grind. Yes, the plate with the large holes is closer to the auger, then the normal plate goes on the other side of the blade against the retaining ring. Here's a video from LEM showing the assembly
It's a good question. This dual grind blade is different than what I'm familiar with. Both sides are flat. It has arrows to show which direction it has to turn. I checked it several times to be sure it was correct.
I experimented with retaining ring tightness and didn't see much improvement...
Has anyone else here had trouble with a LEM dual grind model?
Mine does not work well on elk. It seems like it can't handle silverskin at all. I lose so much time clearing jammed parts and waiting for it to cool down after overheating. Each time I reassembled it after unjamming, I made sure...
