Thank you. I’ve made the mistake of shooting hogs after they were feeding on dead critters. They too had rancid meat. I should have know better that a bear would be similar.

Well it took near 20 years but I finally got my first bear about 2 weeks ago. He will make a nice rug. Was about 300 pounds as well.
He’d been eating on a dead cow for awhile and his meat stunk like crazy. Made me sick to my stomach when I tried cooking some from the smell.
