Why do people interpret "black lives matter" as "black lives matter MORE?" That's a very curious interpretation.
black lives matter doesn't offend me in the least. Every time I hear it I'm like, yes, yes they do, with no need to offer a rebuttal. Pretty easy really.
When would a race-specific "lives matter" movement be appropriate? Even if a race is disproportionately singled out, marginalized and systematically suppressed? Would it be okay to then stand up for those brothers and sisters? If people of other races are offended by that, then they should...
Jumping into this very late, but I read recently something that made me think. Why is it that whenever someone says "Black Lives Matter" there are always 10 white people lined up to respond with "All Lives Matter!" but when folks say "Blue Lives Matter" nobody responds with "All Lives Matter?"...
I look at recoil the same way I do archery tackle. Sure, I could shoot a 70 lb. high tech compound and blow huge holes through both sides of the 110 lb. deer I shoot, but they wouldn't be any "deader" than they are when I poke two holes through them with my 50 lb. recurve and a zwickey 2-blade...
I think the thing to remember is that rifles are getting lighter and lighter. What some guys considered a proper "man's" rifle back in the day, usually came in a 9-10 lb. package all-in. Nowdays, we're shooting 7 lb. packages all-in, and the recoil of an '06 in a 7 lb. rifle is comparable to a...
I was very excited to buy a brand new Tikka T3x stainless in 30-06 a few years ago. Rifle weighed about 6 lbs. 2 oz. When I loaded up full strength 180 Accubonds, that thing was no fun at all to shoot. I found myself starting to flinch after about 3 trips to the range for load work-up. I...
I happened to come across two brand new howa alpine rifles in what seems to be the most unlikely place - a small town hardware store nearly 1k miles from any mountain. One is in .243 and the other is .308. I’m thinking hard about the .308 but not sure it’s worth what they are asking. My guess...
In my testing, 139 sst and 139 interbonds shot exactly the same out to 300 yards. That made it possible to work up loads and practice with the cheaper sst and then hunt with the interbonds if I wanted. That said, the sst has dropped deer more quickly for me than the interbonds have.
I don’t see any point in hoping this will go away. If we’ve learned anything by now, it’s that hoping it will go away just leads to more of a problem. Enough people need to take this seriouslythat we can even hope to contain it. Even then, a vaccine(s) has to be created, then distributed, then...
LOL I've seen way bigger and stronger gates at the entrance to shooting clubs. And they all say "Private Property" which is why I used that analogy.
Okay, let's say you're staying in your RV at a private campground. Some college students crash the gate with the intent to come in and party...
No closed minds will be changed, but believe it or not, the majority of folks actually have open minds and might be interested in learning more so they can draw their own conclusions. I've learned quite a few things from this thread, and the other before it, on this topic. Going into...
The subdivision might be private, but that is different than their own personal property.
Let's say you were a member of a private rifle club, and a group of kids knocked down the gate, came in and started using the range. Do you have the right to point your gun at those kids, with the...
Not that he didn't commit a crime, but I had much less of a problem with the husband's actions than I did the wife. She was dangerously out of control.
Whose gate got kicked down, and whose lives were threatened? I think you may be confusing community property with personal property. The gate was for the neighborhood, not their yard. It is an important distinction. If they try that argument, they will lose.
