COVID - good news is it will all go away

I'm very hopeful that the very fact the pres. and 1st lady have it, will lead to fewer politics around this pandemic, and not more.

COVID - good news is it will all go away

I have a few theories on what's going on here, but I'll keep them to myself. If they actually have it, I pray they will recover.

    HOWA questions here

I understand. That's a premium price. I asked, and they won't budge on those prices, even though those rifles have been on their rack for several years now. Small town gun shops can be like that sometimes. I will say however that those stocks are worth the extra $300+ They are excellent stocks.

    HOWA questions here

I know where there are two brand new Howa Alpines, one in .243 and the other in .308. But they will cost you $1K.

    HOWA questions here

I'm not an authority, but the Vanguards have a different bolt shroud and a ported bolt, and they usually have a 24" barrel vs. a 22 for the Howa.

    Forest service trails

I decided years ago there is a horse trail on every single ridge in the state of Colorado, and the mountain bikers take advantage of that fact. It does make me wonder sometimes how they get those grass sh*t stains out of their fancy riding jerseys. :D

    who carries a chainsaw?

This. Not much I can't take care of - given enough time - with a sharp axe. And it's about 1000 times less likely to be stolen than a chainsaw. That's my biggest reason not to carry a chainsaw. Because I am tired of hiding them in the woods around my camp to keep them from walking off.

    Why My Truck Sucks

Sorry. I got nothing. My 2015 Silverado LT 4x4 has been nothing but great. 160K on it in 5 years.

Saving camping spots on dispersed public land

All the time. It's pretty infuriating. I have also met quite a few hunters who would come in on a weekend, sometimes weeks before their hunt, and set up those camps, then turn around and drive back to the city the same day. There aren't enough FS officers to enforce the camping limit, and...

    Gale Sayers Died

Dang. Rest in peace. I remember my dad, who grew up in Chicago and played youth football with a few guys who later went on to play for the Bears, always talking about Gale.

    Caution Warning: Racism #huntingwhileblack

Anyone ever notice how people who want to push back against or ignore systemic racism always get hung up on blame and guilt? Sure, some (a small minority) want to assign blame, but don't let yourself get hung up on that. Most folks who recognize systemic racism would be happy if folks would...

    Home Sweet Texas Draw

Gov't Canyon and Bastrop SP. I just paid for both of them with the idea that I'll start at Gov. Canyon and if I don't like what I'm seeing, I'll go to Bastrop the next day or 2nd 2 days. I'm going to have to call the hunt coordinators and explain the problem, and maybe they will help me work...

    Home Sweet Texas Draw

I felt that way for about the last 9 years. Annual donation is what I kept saying. At least it was to a good cause.

    Home Sweet Texas Draw

I've been in the TX draw for about 10 years now. I have a total of over 25 points in 5 categories, and have never been drawn until this year. Then, to top it off, they drew me for two hunts that are going on at the same time. Go figure. So I have to choose one and the other points get wiped...

    Home Sweet Texas Draw

This is the one I'm hoping for. I have 5 points now. Hope that's enough!

    Caution Warning: Racism #huntingwhileblack

Okay. (y) So you see "non-hunter vs. hunter bigotry, non-res vs. resident bigotry, and rich vs. poor bigotry" as pretty much equal to racial bigotry?

    Caution Warning: Racism #huntingwhileblack

Now that's some interesting logic. If the majority of the cases aren't a problem, then the problem cases don't count. Hmm. One case is too many, and until we all feel that way, we will continue to have cases of racism. Of course, some folks will think that's okay, I guess.
