Not sure if anyone else has tried these, but I'm getting the best groups of my life with 120 CX's out of a factory Savage 6.5 CM. Three trips to the range with 5-10 shot groups averaging 0.6"
Anyone else loading this bullet or any other CX's? I'm trying 150's from my .308 now. Working up...
Those are studs alright. Irrigated ag sure helps grow 'em big! I shot the largest deer of my life last November - an estimated 300 lb. muley in SE Colorado. Got 90# of boneless meat off him. So if you guys are taking 400 lb. deer, then that stands to reason.
My "1/4" comment came from...
Snopes has got nothing on you bro! Look at you go!
BTW, a boneless meat yield of 129 lbs. equates to a live weight of about 400 lbs. Where you killing 400 lb. deer? Inquiring minds want to know.
That seems like a silly question.
1/4 is based on what I've seen if I put a cup and core through the shoulders. Lots and lots of bloodshot meat and bone fragments everywhere. I've seen complete shoulders turned to bloodshot hamburgers and if you've been around deer hunting very much, you have...
I have one unopened box of 143-grain Hornady ELD-X in 6.5mm and 87 Midway factory seconds of the same. My barrel likes 120's so these are up for grabs.
Will be combined with some TTSX's and relisted. thanks
I'd agree with this if you plan to have more than one person with you. My 10x10 is perfect for two cots and a kitchen, but a third would be challenging.
You won't regret it. I've hunted solo the past several years, and my 10x10 is like a palace in the woods. Easy, comfortable, warm and it all fits inside my large igloo cooler so no wasted space. I'd never trade it for a wall tent and wood stove.
Almost exactly my experience, except that I spend the last minutes of each day reading a chapter of whatever book I'm working on. I do the same with the heater. Off when I get in the sack and reachable so I can turn it on when I wake. Like you said, even if the lower 1/3 of the tent is...
I have none of that "luck" of which you speak. LOL
Didn't get drawn for mule deer again this year. However they did draw me for two whitetail hunts AT THE SAME TIME... Guaranteeing I'll zero out points in both categories but only be able to hunt one area. That's just great...
At 25, I had been married for 5 years and had a 3 year old and 1 year old. I was 4 years into my post-college career (that I'm still in) and working my butt off. Would I change anything? Maybe. I would have made sure we spent more time out West. But that's nitpicking. I've been married to...
yes. I usually clean it after about 10 shots, but rarely do I shoot more than that at a single range session anyway. So it's part of my cleaning process. But it's easy enough to do right there on the shooting bench too.
Yea, all of them. My Tikka T3 7mm-08 was an absolute tack driver with whatever I fed it. I still have a target on my wall that I shot at 400 yards in Colorado. Three shot group measures under 2".
