I suffered a complete rupture about 10 years ago.
It was a long recovery and I felt a 100% after about 18 months.
I still play b-ball and softball and do everything I did before but like Nemont does, I am quite mindful of stretching prior to doing any heavy exercise.
They say if you rupture...
Congrats on the the elk!
Sounds like you learned some valuable things as well and I'm sure you'll put those to good work in the future.
You aren't the only one that had a learning curve, everybody does! Well done to you fellas.
From what you described, I'd go with the Timberline's for sure.
I like the reinforced knees and rear on the TL's. Both are great pants but the TL's are definitely more durable. I have four pairs of them and love them.
I bought a Vac-Master 215 chamber sealer.
That thing works great.
Drawbacks: It weights around a hundred pounds and is not very pricey but I had terrible luck with the Foodsavers and said the heck with it.
It is awesome.
Not much for wolves in the Little Belts (at least nothing to be concerned with) and the same with grizzly bears.
I'd agree with the WSS cold storage advice and if you are on the north end Great Falls has plenty of options as well.
It can be busy but so can pretty much every place in Montana if...
Great optics, nice flat-shooting rifle, good mapping program or good maps, good walking boots to get away from road, find a rested animal if possible (antelope are fantastic table fare if meat care is done right), knee pads for crawling through cactus, coolers full of ice for meat storage, and...
There is some stupid stuff being shown on some of the hunting shows.
I think one that comes to mind is Relentless Pursuit (I'm pretty sure it is this show). On the intro, the guy shoots a brown bear in the head with an arrow and then celebrates.
I cannot believe they continue to show that...
I have had really good luck with Lancaster.
I have been really impressed with their arrow building.
You tell them what you want and they brew them up right.
Unfortunately Helena is not blessed with great archery shops in my opinion.
No Wyoming antelope love as feared.
Should have been a slam dunk with the points I had or would have been last year.
Guess the apps went up and with a slightly decreased quota I got phased out.
Here's to next year.
Not a great drawing year for me: no Idaho sheep, no big three or elk permit...
