Check out Mike Ukrainetz with Mike's Outfitting out of Spirit River. I've hunted with him 5 times for bears and I know he does well on moose too.
Good lodging, good food and a relatively easy moose hunt and they always seem to tag out with gun hunters and have high success rates on bowhunters...
I'd look at Alberta if you want to just shoot a moose.
Most of the bulls are not real large but guessing you could find a pretty good hunt for your price range and likely have a VERY good chance of getting one.
If it was Spokane vs Great Falls I'd move there in a heartbeat.
While I don't love the City, there are tons of great areas nearby.
Pretty much everything an outdoor guy could ask for. Rivers, lakes, mountains, plains areas close by.
Much cheaper real estate than Bozeman and some of those...
That's a great Alberta ram!
I just got back from there a couple weeks ago and those Alberta sheep are tough to find.
I finally got one after 13 days in the bush but it was a grind.
Congrats on a beautiful mount.
Well after reading all the comments I can't say much that hasn't already been said.
That was an outstanding read and one of the coolest, if not THE coolest, thread I've ever read on HT.
The picture of the deer with all the sheds is incredible.
Helluva buck and a tip of the hat to ya!
That is a dang fine Elkhorn bull!
I spend a ton of time in there in and out of season and bulls like that don't come easy nor are they all that common contrary to popular belief.
Congrats and if I had that tag I'd have shot that son of a gun in a heartbeat!
P.S. Incredible thirds on that bull!
Good on you for getting your FIL up there and getting it done on a dream hunt.
You are one tough sumbitch to pack TWO moose mostly by yourself.
Congrats to you both!
Lots of good suggestions so far and I'll add a couple:
You definitely need to do Yellowstone since you are this close and can drive up to Big Sky on the way then come back through the Gardiner area and the Paradise Valley on the way back.
Chico Hot Springs or the Sage Lodge would be a couple...
You're obviously a bright guy and put a lot of thought into things and I don't disagree with your thoughts on the vaccine passport and it being a requirement for travel. I'm not thrilled about it either but I'd like to be ahead of the curve on it if it becomes a requirement as I do have a few...
My Dr. didn't cite any evidence, rationale or studies.
I simply asked him if I should have any concerns about getting the vaccination and if I should be concerned about the quick roll-out. He said no, and said he got it the first chance he could. That was good enough for me as I trust him...
Wow, you got the hard ones out of the way first, congrats!
I'm slowly working my way towards the slam. Not sure I'll ever get the Ocellated done. Love to try though!
I had COVID in early January. Wasn't too bad other than cold-like symptoms and fatigue for about ten days.
Just got my first Moderna shot yesterday. Sore arm and that's it so far. Definitely mixed feelings about the vaccine but I talked to my personal physician extensively and other...
