Looks like a good place to hunt bears.
I love hunting black bears in Alberta, I've been the past three years and plans to return the next two as well.
Great start on your story, thanks for sharing!
"Not Selected" for sheep.
Count me "not surprised". :)
Dammit, switched from moose applications to sheep application this year as I am a bighorn away from a slam but may go back to moose next year.
Hope somebody from HT drew something good!
No pics but after 7 days in the brine I smoked some black bear pastrami and it was to die for!
Not smoking related but also made corned black bear and it was fantastic.
The course grain nature of black bear meat sure makes it conducive to these two dishes. Good stuff!
I bought Sitka Stormfront for a Stone sheep hunt last August.
I bitched and moaned about the price of it until I lived in it for 10 days straight as we had horrible weather. I would have paid five times what I paid for it after that.
That stuff is awesome, albeit expensive but being able to...
I've hunted Rhodes Canyon twice.
It's a bit of a goat rope at the start of the hunt as everyone leaves at the same time but be patient and people will gradually spread out all over the place.
Here's a tip: when you to the briefing, don't be in a big hurry to get there. If you are one of...
Love the rifle, very nice.
I have two .375's.
A Winchester Model 70 Safari Express and a Sako.
Both shoot really well and I don't mind the recoil on them at all.
Also have a .416 Remington and that is a great rifle too. Love the big bore rifles. :)
Besnard Lake.
It has a campground and also places to rent boats.
I always hauled my own but the rentals are pretty decent.
Also a Lodge to stay in if you don't want to camp but the campground has showers and all the necessary amenities.
I've been there many a time.
Late addition: I see...
Team Hoyt,
Hell, to be honest I don't know. The rifle shoots fine and probably better than I operate it.
After a few shots and the barrel heats up, it is not quite as accurate in my experience.
If you're looking for a incredibly accurate long range type rifle I don't believe this is the...
I have one in a 300 Win Mag. Bought it for a sheep hunt.
Put a Leupold 3-18 x 44 mm on it and it's a nice backpacking type rifle.
Not something you want to shoot for fun a bunch (in my opinion) but rifle is very accurate and a joy to carry weight-wise.
They also have a Cooper Timberline out...
Incredible film and stud of a ram.
Congrats to the hunters and thanks for posting the vid.
Stone sheep hunting was one of the best adventures I ever had and my experience pales in comparison to the epic nature of that journey.
Simply awesome stuff.
