Great info guys. I’ve got the OnX thing covered. I may very well be overthinking this thing too much. I’ve seen plenty of horror stories on the eastern units and hopefully I’m just seeing the worst of it. I just like being as prepare as possible... I thought of this but I honestly just don’t know quite what to expect. I’d really hate to get there and regret not having gear to put me further in if needed. Totally not opposed to truck camping, but would like the ability to go deeper if required.- huntinsonovagun

The initial plan is to arrive 1-2 days early to drive around and scout, then dive deeper once I get a handle on the populations and pressure. I do understand that there is a portion of the unit nearly devoid of antelope. What would be your order of importance as far as quality is concerned...- huntinsonovagun

I hate cheap clients, but I am one myself sometimes 🤣 I’ve never backpacked before, know nothing about it. Honestly never had the desire to backpack, except to possibly go on a backpack hunt. Ok, I’m going to be lazy and not google it...what’s the big draw with the Red Desert? Is it beautiful/unique terrain, lots of animals, big animals?? Just curious because I’ve seen it mentioned all over and those units require a ton of points to draw!- huntinsonovagun

Interesting about the one point opening up several more units. I must be looking at it wrong or something. I bought my first point last year but thought it looked like I needed 3-4 points to really open some stuff up. Looks like I need to spent some more days filtering through different units...- huntinsonovagun
