I drew 2 Colorado antelope tags, a buck and a doe. Opening morning I filled the doe tag.
My 300WM Nosler 180gr E-Tip Hit her center chest, head on. While butchering, I found the bullet in the left rear leg.
I’m hopefully heading back Weds or Friday to find a buck if life doesn’t get in the way.
I hung my antelope in my garage (gutted and skinned but whole) for a week last year in 40-50 degree temps before I butchered and froze it and it turned out great. In with ice it would last much, much longer.
Similar concerns- I do my own wild game but some friends and I are set to buy a couple cows (moo type) and cannot find an butcher shop to do them anytime soon. The rancher may have to feed them all winter until a butcher can have some available time in the spring. Not good for anyone.
Kinda seems the wife is calling the friend's man-card into question? If I were him, I'd take that as her wanting me to go hunting. 🤷♂️
I currently have a mount of my father-in-law's. I was fortunate enough to hang it in my living room and have him see it before he passed.... I think it...
I will self-identify as a cheap SOB but I sharpen them and use them again... and again. I got the Outdoor Edge EDC knife almost three years ago and it came with five extra blades. I'm on blade #2 after I chipped the first one. I think I put that blade in a Gatorade bottle and put it in the trash.
