    Mountain Lion hunting

HAHAHA. I know! That is always the plan when I'm on the couch, but then I get out there and my big boy pants somehow come uncinched. I guess I'm the scaredy cat!

    Home School Madness

I agree but... The problem that I am seeing is that crappy parents are crappy parents. This is very bad for the kids that don't have the help. I know of kids and their parents that are doing no work at home. The children are suffering! Yes teachers do have a difficult job (like said before...

    Home School Madness

My mom is a teacher so I don't want to downgrade the struggle teachers are dealing with right now, but if I have to homeschool why would I not just pull my kid out of school all together and home school?

    Home School Madness

Is anyone else spending ALL day being a teacher? On one side of the coin it's cool to be hanging out with my kid while I'm off work, but the other side is I would much rather be out in the woods. I am so frustrated with all of this, because I was a terrible student, and I am an even worse...

    ATV Hunting in Colorado

I hunt in and around Durango and there are quite a few. Like nrpate05 said most of them are roads you can drive with a vehicle, but it is very hard on them. There are also quite a few ATV only trails that are nice. There are also some motorcycle only trails that are less used by hunters. The...

    Mountain Lion hunting

That would be awesome. I'm really not good at this at all, but it does give me an excuse to be outdoors with a weapon, and what more can I ask for.

    Mountain Lion hunting

Thanks. Yea I try to do the same. But when I'm tracking one down sometimes it's hard to find the perfect location. That looks like a great spot you're in there.

    Mountain Lion hunting

So forgive me if this has already been talked about but in my search I didn't find much. I am a stubborn individual and really want to get a mountain Lion without dogs. I don't have a problem with hunting them with dogs, and will do that someday as well. I'm in Colorado so I can't even use...

    I wouldn't take it, but . . . .

I think I would have to shoot it, but then my wife would be angry because there would be full body mounted moose somewhere in the house. What a beautiful creature!!!!

    Rabbit/Hare SWA Colorado

You take take the hide and tan it yourself, as they aren't worth much it seems. Or you can feed all the other hungry animals out there.

    Sunday Pic of the Day

I often think about how tough these men were. I work as a construction lineman and the way that they built power lines back then, with none of the modern tools we use now, is amazing to me. Not only power lines though, it seems everything they did was amazing. I feel that we are so weak in...

    First go at Jerky

I just used this exact same recipe I believe. It was really good, but I usually try to add more spice to keep my kids from eating it all so fast. They will eat pounds of it in one sitting and then complain about how bad their stomachs hurt. I use deer mostly.

First DIY backcountry hunt in CO: lessons learned

Good write up. You definitely put in the work. Once you know where the guides are it gets a little easier, in that you can stay away if you want. Just know that if you see signs of guides you are very likely in great country. Colorado is a really hard place to hunt and not see people, but it...

    Rabbit/Hare SWA Colorado

I haven't hunted rabbits since I was a kid. I have been predator hunting quite a bit and there are a lot of rabbits out there. As kids we would walk around the BLM in the Durango and Ignacio area and spook them up. Shoot em quick before they go in their hole. It really is a lot of fun. Best...
