Long-range muzzleloaders.
The phrase "Send it!"
People who say "Send it!"
When people walk in their shots at animals making adjustments from their misses when shooting beyond their limits.
People trying to excuse their crap shooting by saying, "That got a little western." I like the phrase, but...
I'd be interested. We have a lot of access to various public marshes here in the Salt Lake area. I am familiar with just a few. It is definitely a spot where people could break into small groups, hunt several different locations, and move around over the course of a few days. Huge variety of...
Um, can I get in on this? Montana was home for me for 30 years. I moved eight years ago and just took up waterfowl last year. Now kicking myself, not realizing what I had been missing all that time in the 406.
Just finished making a batch with duck, but did some goose last season. I just use a jerky mix (seasoning and cure). Mix by weight with thin sliced meat and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 24 hrs. Then into the smoker - roll smoke on it at about 195 degrees for maybe 40-60 mins, then...

Sounds like an awesome trip. One question: How the heck did you manage to gain 1000 ft of elevation in a day in Iowa? My experience in Iowa made me feel like I could watch my dog run away for three days from the top of a moderate hill.
Just giving you some grief. Congrats again and thanks for...
Got my best mule deer this season. It was awesome to head back home to Montana to hunt. By far the best mule deer I have seen in 15+ years of hunting this area.
Got out Friday evening for a very quick hunt. It was warm, like mid 50's, and nothing was flying. Had the kayak out again so I snuck down a side slough and jumped a redhead drake and a hen shoveler together. They came home with me.
Got out Saturday, also very warm and calm. Went out late...
