    Calling my shot!

Every year, I say I'm going to scale down my applications and number of hunts, but I never do. This year, though, I'll be somewhat forced to. We have several Clark Griswold-style family trips planned, so I'll have maybe 3 weeks PTO to set aside for hunting. At this point, the most likely tags...

    Tag dilemma

Easy.. Apply for elk. If you don't draw, you can apply for pronghorn and deer.

My Grinder Sucks - Grinder reviews

I have had no problems at all with this grinder. Have done deer, antelope, hogs, and elk. I did over 100 pounds of elk Thursday, I'm sure the grinder ran less than 20 minutes total. It will grind just as fast as I can drop it down the hole. I've never needed to use the plunger. The only real...

    Whats your daily driver?

I drove a 97 Ranger from senior year of high school until a couple years ago (age 34 now). Still have it, pretty much just haul trash a couple miles to the dump with it is all. The frame is rusted dangerously bad, that happens around here and is why most vehicles get junked. Now I've inherited...

    AZ Hunters Ed bonus point

I feel kinda bad for the guys that took time and spent money to go to an in-person course. This will certainly devalue their point to some degree.

High Rental Market and what to do about it.

I'm not really in a high cost area, but my wife and I bought a used house trailer for 12,500 when we were younger. Lived there for 3 years, then sold it for 12,500. Lot rent was $50/month on the edge of a hayfield that some of her relatives owned. This may not be a realistic option in a lot of...

    Watching Out For Cubs

Seems like a lot of close calls. I wonder how often it actually happens. I would assume fairly often. Certainly, the best thing to do is self report. I bet that most lactating sows go "unrecovered" though. It's definitely an ever-present thought anytime I have a bear tag in my pack.

    Chewed out a Fedex driver

I had a package delivered last winter, couldn't find it anywhere. Eventually found it on my car trailer, about 200' from the house. That was UPS. Granted, the driveway was slick and he had to park on the road and walk up. I do try to cut them some slack though. I think they work some long...

    CO leftover list is available

I like the reissue process. I liked it even better before this year, but it's still been good to me. It's one of the highlights of my workweek.

    Montana preference points

$100 per point, shazam! Approaching $1k for a deer tag if it gets to 3 points to draw.

My How To: Flying Cross Country with Elk Meat

It sounds like you got the meat home via airline about as cheap as possible. I got my bear home from Alaska for a similar amount a couple years ago. I purchased 3 collapsible coolers off Amazon that I used to replace the foam padding in my rifle case on the flight there. No extra bag fees on...
