Ice fish, baby!
I've had a pretty good start to the ice season in northern Wisconsin. Panfish have been aggressive in shallow (less than 10 ft deep) water over green vegetation. I also managed to catch a 56 in sturgeon on a tip-up rigged for walleye. Quite the fight and the largest fish I've ever landed- Northwoods Labs

Ice auger/rods
If you aren't going out often, and depending on where you are going (thickness of ice), I would just get a hand auger. Make sure the blades are sharp- Northwoods Labs

Iced up
I have had similar conditions where I did not bring my dog, good call in my opinion. Good work on the ducks. We have been iced out a while now in northern Wisconsin (plus duck season is now closed). Still some geese around on our rivers- Northwoods Labs

Good Duck Day
That is a fantastic mixed bag and some beautiful birds. Not sure if you many geese where you are at, but I have had good luck with most all species coming into goose decoys. Persistence Hunting
So his strategy is to run down pronghorn, which could take a very long time, in 100 degree heat? Boy, not sure if that meat would taste good. Ethical or not, being able to eat what you kill is a major, major part of hunting to me-so I guess I'm going to take a hard pass on the whole persistence...- Northwoods Labs

Cripples
Yea, I've watched guys dump ducks in the wild rice and then not try and pick anything up until after the hunt, I would imagine many go unfound. This must be a nationwide issue, because in spots in northern Wisconsin it is bad, bad bad.
