If I'm able to purchase an AZ NR OTC mule deer license, how exactly does that work? Am I free to hunt in any of the WMUs or am I restricted to certain ones? Thanks. -

Thanks. Yes, CWL here from FL, and reciprocity with AZ so was not worried about that. Was more concerned if I got stopped by Fish & Wildlife and they see I have a loaded gun with me and might try to charge me was being a poacher. It would be a 10mm handgun with 17 rounds. -

Can I carry a loaded handgun for safety/self defense from predators while scouting out of season? For example, scouting different areas of AZ prior to desert mule deer season, carrying a handgun to protect from mountain lions, etc. -

No, but from what I was reading you've got a far chance of drawing a desert mule deer tag. I understand that I've got to get my NR hunting license before I can even apply. She lives in AZ so it's only $58 for her ($315 for me). -
