Moose Mounts
I don't mean to hijack the thread, but anyone have thoughts on cow moose taxidermy? I have a Maine cow tag and still haven't fully committed to doing a shoulder mount if I wind up connecting. Solo Deer 4 day 3 night pack hunt needs
TJ - I've found that for doing backpack/base camp-style hunts, my basic gear list doesnt change a whole lot whether its a multi-day trip for squirrels in June or an archery deer hunt in October. Obviously you need to account for the species specific hunt, and possibly add an extra layer or two...- WaltherPPJ

Yea, VA is one of the trickier states to keep the Rules and Regs straight that I've found on the east coast. I haven't hunted the Sikas so far, but I am actually looking into it for this upcoming season on a couple patches of public. I am going to try to get out and scout for a day in Jul/Aug...- WaltherPPJ

Thanks everybody! VAspeedgoat - I'm in the Gaithersburg MD area, just outside DC. I lived in Arlington for 5 years and hunted CF Phelps & GR Thompson WMAS & GWNF. I still get down to CF Phelps in the spring every year for a 5-day squirrel camp trip. Where are you based out of in VA?- WaltherPPJ
