I'm not buying points for Colorado anymore, tell me I'm wrong.
I'm a CO resident and hunt every year but still build points. I don't know that I would build points as a non-resident though. As a resident I can draw a quality (opportunity not trophy) hunt every year as a second choice while building points for a quality (trophy) hunt in 6-8 years. I haven't...- QELKhunter

NM Unit 50 rifle
I live just the other side of the CO border, just outside Antonito. My dad lives in southern NM so unit 50, 51 and 52 are good middle ground areas for us. As a non-resident I won't hunt this unit. The price tag for a license is not worth the less than marginal odds. For a resident who can get a late season cow tag this is a money in the bank unit. Planing 2021 elk hunt in Colorado, with 19 PP focused on Unit 76 early rifle.
I had a friend draw this unit for the muzzleloader tag. He hunted above timberline and was able to connect on a heavy 6x6.
