I drew CO pronghorn buck and it looks like there will be some doe tags for the same hunt on the secondary draw and leftover list. No luck in NM yet again and we will find out about Wyoming in a few weeks.
The author hasn't been back on Hunt Talk since shortly after he posted his introduction. It's a common thing.
I live in 80/81. The boundary between the two units divides out property in two. I do must of my hunting in 81 but am very familiar with both units.
I haven't heard anything about that decision but I would imagine it will not be legalized in the Traditional Western states like CO. As a muzzleloader hunter myself, I'm apposed to it's use during a muzzleloader season in Colorado.
I have both a Hawken flintlock .50 cal and an inline CVA .50...
Awesome to hear about your plans to come to CO! I'm a CO native and a volunteer firefighter for our local agencies and a former EMT-intermediate I-99 (let my license lapse as I haven't worked in EMS since 2018, oops).
Shoot me a DM, I'm willing to share some experiences and tips to help you be...
Welcome to Hunt Talk and thank you for your service!
I have a life long buddy that moved to Pensacola about 5 years ago, he just happened to fly in yesterday. He has promised to take me fishing in Florida one of these days, but haven't heard anything of the hunting down that way.
I live in southern CO and the weather here has always been cyclical. In the 90's 30+ inches of snow in April and May was regular. Now we still get most of our snow in those two months but nothing like we used to. The last time I saw 30" of snow was in 2019 and that was a welcomed surprise.

I grew up in Socorro. My father still lives there. I put in for units 12 and 17 this year as a non-resident. Just waiting on the draw results now. I haven't hunted NM since I moved out of state, hoping this is a homecoming year for me.
Welcome for CO! 7 states is most definitely a long term commitment. It's very interesting to read what drives and motivates each person to hunt or what their bucket list might be.
I have a goal of taking a bull elk for every year I've been alive. Currently I'm 28 with 8 bulls in 9 years so I...
Welcome from CO. This is the right place to find a wealth of knowledge. Be sure to search historical posts as well as asking new questions.
Best regards,
Welcome from south central CO!
Currently I am building points for Arizona with the intent on hunting there in the next 3-4 years. Short term nonresident hunting for me is hopefully NM (waiting on draw results) and Montana.
After a decade of working my butt off finally landed a job that will...
Sounds terrifying and maybe you should change your username to "murphy's law". Anything that can go wrong will go wrong should be your moto.
Very interested to read some of your previous posts based on the veterans reaction to your return story.
Best of luck in your future endeavors, hopefully...
Welcome to Hunt Talk! CO resident myself, San Luis Valley, joined in the fall. I've been following hunt talk on and off for years and finally have time to spend hunting more and researching hunts more. This is a great place to exchange experiences and build knowledge of hunts you would like to do.
I'm much like the rest of these guys and have never really had a "need" to take a long range shot. The first elk I killed I shot him first rifle season at 70 yards.
This last year I guided my wife to her first elk. She shot that bull at 50 feet! That's right I said 50 FEET not 50 yards. During...
I've held a bear tag four times in Colorado. Every year I've held a tag I've seen bears but always with Cubs. I have yet to harvest a bear in Colorado. But hope to do so this year. If I'm lucky and draw a New Mexico tag I'll likely pick up an over-the-counter bear tag as well. Hoping to hunt...
