Aperture/peeps and a 6 o’clock hold help. I’d be confident on a moose/elk at 150 with my encore w/ skinner rear sight and 100 on a deer with same setup. A v notch hawken id subtract 10-20 yards.
If you want strictly a utility/hunting rig the pioneer 700 can’t be beat if it’s the 3speed AT with locker. It tops out at 44/45 but geared perfectly for what I like doing. Had two quartered caribou, camp, and two people in one. It crawled up everything. Only issues I ever had were trying to...
I understand that we need to increase housing supply. If they want to use fed land then present plans that address that. A blanket transfer to the state will just end up benefiting greedy rich assholes as is the tradition of the US.
Long range shooting/loss , poaching, rich assholes, and illegal tag sales all in one article? Christmas came early. I hope this guy gets used as a fleshlight in prison.
Bow hunters are great at driving elk to private land and wounding animals. If archery has no impact, Colorado wouldn’t be cutting tags and wy might have more seasons. When archery was a fringe group up until the 2000s your belief might have been correct. Those days have long since given way to...
Watched a show a few days ago. 600+ yards. Elk clearly reacts like it’s hit then walks off. Dude says he missed and didn’t hit walk across the valley to look for blood.
“The moment or truth, let me range animal, fumble with tape, peel tape off while likely spinning turret 180 degrees, find correct value, get back on gun, make shot or a lifetime.” Pretty stupid solution for something I didn’t think would be a good rule to begin with
Reading comprehension is not your strength. I said that they render a turret rule pointless. To answer your question. Yes, I would. Your elevator doesn’t need to go very high to find manufacturer data which spells out exactly what the reticle marks equal and the formulas for using them. Your...
Yeah because it’s impossible to see a dial turret with index marks and numbers exposed on top of the scope. It’s easier than checking someone’s license and way easier than checking legal muzzleloader bullets.
Range finder idea is stupid. Turret idea means well but also pointless with mil/moa reticle. Limiting scope magnification would be better. If they want to reduce wound/loss then ban archery equipment
