I ordered a case annealer last night, so I can start testing that out shortly. Once I have some brass fire formed through the gun, I'll send off for a hydraulic die. Everything else is sitting on my reloading bench right now, I can't wait for my barrel to arrive.
I might have 3+ boxes, around 170 or so, Barnes lrx in .277 for sale. I think a buddy of mine is going to buy them, but if he doesn't you're welcome to them.
Hey all, some of you saw in my other thread I recently ordered a 6mm Rem Ackley Improved barrel. I have been loading for my old man's 257 Ackley for a few years, but this is the first for me. I have a few questions for the guys with more experience with these blown out case cartridges...
I need to update the ad, it is now wearing a Leupold vx-2 3-9x40 with BDC reticle. I would do $750 with the Leupold on it. Otherwise I'm cool with selling the gun bare.
They also have some killer deals on ten mile and credo models in closeout. The illuminated credo would be a sweet coyote scope. I seriously considered one for my 7mag. The credo is down around $600, really good price for a high end scope.
Not the same caliber, but I was at sportsman's the other day picking through what little reloading stuff they had and noticed a box of 20 30-378 weatherby brass. It was over a hundred bucks for 20 brass! The 375 weatherby next to it were 120 bucks for 20 brass. I had to double take to make...

I pulled this off a rifle I just bought. Glass is in good condition and has the standard duplex reticle. PayPal F&F or I'll split the G&S markup with buyer. $300 TYD
I've been down the weatherby road before, I'll stick with the 6AI. I was surprised the 240 bee ammo was "only" 95 bucks a box, it hasn't went up as bad as other brands. My first boomer was a 340 weatherby I had 10 years ago. Premium bullet ammo was 120 bucks a box back then. That's when I...
I have been building this gun in my dreams for about 10 years, the time finally presented itself. It was going to be a 243 AI before I found this long action.
So I found a guy online selling 150 PPU once shot fire formed brass, 6mm AI Redding custom comp dies, and 6mm Rem RCBS dies.
Theoretically they should work fine if I run them through the FL sizer, but I'm nervous they may not chamber properly. We ran into that with my dad's 257 AI rifle, but...
I put an order in with Pacnor for a barrel today, went with a 6mm AI, 8 twist 5r rifling in a 24 inch length. Ended up going prefit remage to save a little money. It will give me a little more flexibility to build this thing in increments as well. If I end up hating it for some reason I...
Mine doesn't lock the bolt, I'm thinking it must be aftermarket. It's a really good trigger, very similar to my Tikka trigger. I'll take it apart this weekend and see what's in there.
This is exactly what I was thinking.
As @Jbotto mentioned, the AI would be pretty sweet.
I called one of our local smiths this morning and he told me he has a reamer for 6mm AI. He built the exact same gun a few years ago for a guy in town here.
I'm curious what kind of prices others are...
