I've looked at Christiansen, but their offerings are limited in left hand. Their 243 is only a 10" twist and the only 6.5 offering of any interest is the manbun, which is a far 3rd place for me to the swede and the 284.
You do have me shopping custom actions, it has been a while since I...
Brass is definitely harder to find than the common stuff, the 6.5x284 and the swede are probably about the same as far as difficulty to find. Swede brass is surprisingly cheap from Norma for some reason. I have thought of a 6.5-06, it is a little to wildcat for me at this point, I know a few...
Yeah, those stainless long actions were the ones I was looking at getting besides the 40x. The problem with all left hand guns of any manufacturer is the caliber selection and availability of stainless. These Remington stainless bare actions is the best way I have found to build the rifle I...
Thanks, that was pretty much what I was thinking. The stripped 40x is 300 bucks, I'm up in the air if it is worth it or not. The other strike against it is it isn't stainless, for the right price I could let that go, but I do prefer stainless.
Hey guys, I found a remington 40x left hand stripped action for sale. It says it is a repeater and is for a 223 rem. From my reading the 40x is dimensionally the same as the 700 and is a short action. Everything says that it takes the same trigger and stock as a standard 700 as well. If this...
Hey all, I'm starting to plan a Brooks range caribou trip for 21 or more likely 22. I have a few areas and transporters picked out. I've talked with a few transporters already and have started a rough gameplan. Right now I'm looking at mainly 2 different areas, either flying out of Kotzibue...
As others have said, I do the vaccuum sealed frozen meals for dinners. This year was alternating taco stew and homemade tamales. Lunches are homemade energy bars. Snacks are TILLAMOOK cheddar sliced up with summer sausage and packaged in vaccuum bags to go in the pack each day.
I have a pair as well. As mentioned already, somewhat heavy but super warm and durable. My only complaint is the pants need a belt or suspenders, the elastic waist doesn't hold mine up very well.
I would try the super nova, the only real difference is the super nova can be shimmed to fit the shooter. I would also look for a 26" barrel instead of a 28", the 26" will swing nicer for youth and you loose minimal velocity or accuracy.
Thomas beat me to it, but I still recommend the super...
Sytes, handle a leica before you get the leupold. The leica is in a different league in my opinion for not a lot more money. Check eurooptic for the best deal on the leica.
I went out yesterday morning, the unit i have a doe tag in was an absolute zoo. I never saw an antelope on huntable land but im pretty sure i saw every tag holder. I have tomorrow off, so my 7 year old will be doing her remote learning from the truck tomorrow. Then hopefully lots of PE and...
On another note, enjoy the goose hunting over there, you have some amazing goose hunting around you. I'm an eastern montana native and really miss the goose hunting. Used to go out every year, haven't went in about 4 years and I miss it. Have been hunting closer to home lately and it isn't...
You can make it happen. ;) My big production smoker lives in the garage, makes my garage smell wonderful for weeks, it would be like man Febreze for your apartment. :) I'm sure all your neighbors would enjoy wonderful smells floating around the complex. I'm just kidding, I probably wouldn't do...
