The cricket is a good option but at ten she might be about past that point. My brothers daughter finds it too small and she’s 10. Just wanna advise you be careful the store you use. Most vests have short box call pouches but a pack would be easy. I’m personally never carrying a short box. Longbox is every way better. I carry mine in the cargo/bird pouch in my vest using a leather holster made by Yoder. Perfect size and keeps box quiet. Sometimes I’ll strike far off birds...- Foggy Mountain

Zeiss Conquest HD vs Swaro EL: My observations
I have a couple pairs of conquest HD, never used the EL but my brother has SLC that you mentioned earlier. I’ll be honest I’ll take the HD any day. To my eye they’re better. I’ll also say binos, cameras, scopes, gets to a point where you pay lots more for minimal improvement. Good review btw- Foggy Mountain

Dog tracking system
Fellas I’m not sure what the op is using the collar for or if it’s even necessary. I run all year and find the 100 more than adequate but a few hours at a time is what I do. The op may be similar and it’ll be way cheaper not to use the newest- Foggy Mountain

I think I want a pistol
A Buckmark for sure or a Smith Revolver. Make sure it’s got some barrel whatever you buy. A .22 is a good option and one I recommend for first handgun.- Foggy Mountain

I worked for 2 bear camps and hunted Alberta a bit. To me it’s no question chocolate but it’s sorta like beagles. One guy calls em red n white, one guy the same dog lemon.
