Back to Russia, this would also apply to the "Anyone buying yet" thread. there are report that both Nord Stream 1 &2 have been damaged and gas is bubbling up to the surface of the Baltic near a Danish island. If true is this a Black Swan event?
If elk is a possibility in the future, then my recommendation is no Bueno, if not I bought my son a 6mm Creedmoor (Ruger). I have been very pleased with this rifle, mild recoil and accurate Everything from antelope, deer and coyotes. Factory ammo is becoming very available. I am going to buy...
As a defense contractor we need to label this invasion as a critical national security threat to keep that money pump going,
As an aside, if Russia is not a peer or near peer, shouldn't the Europeans be able to handle their own mess?
Equal would mean a peer not a near peer
Also from the article;
Russia’s failure to swiftly overrun the former Soviet republic has shown Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall Russia remains a “near-peer” competitor rather than one on par with American military prowess.
Russian leaders have also...
The idea that a bunch of dudes can sit around and discuss how "they don't have this or we got more", and they know better than to mess with us is ludicrous.
In Afghanistan the worst day was 30 KIA, y'all really think the American public has got the stomach to go toe to toe with a near peer over...
I began my comment by talking about the validity of the reports. But why were Ukrainian service members on board ?
Perhaps I am being naïve that that much military hardware could be headed to a conflict and end up else where, I mean it not like that has happened before.
Don't see my self as fitting into either one of those groups. I have been fairly critical of the response to Ukraine since the beginning. There may be another group as well, so invested in opposing Putin that they cannot take a critical view of what ours and the worlds actions may deliver.
There have been some reports (really don't know how valid) that some of the weapons and weapon systems are beginning to show up in other parts of the world, really not surprising.
I am interested if the polling was done primarily in New England, I suppose the 18-29 demographic would be at least a little different if conducted in the South or the West.
Asking the major powers of Europe, Germany, France, UK to actually fund the defense for Ukraine instead of relying on us, hardly seems like grade school "gotcha". That is absurd.
Just saying yes, or in this case printing money does not work either.
Perhaps we could have done is not pushed...
It would appear that the Germans are still funding the Russian military

This is a European problem, and they really don't seem that interested/invested in fixing it...
I better question to ask is do the Europeans believe he is committed to that. Looking at the level of support that is be given by the countries that would most impacted it does not appear that they believe that.
