    Who needs glass this big?

I've got the kowa 77 and still find myself wishing for just a bit more reach when that bull or buck is a question mark at a mile and beyond.

    Wifes ewe story

My wife didn't burn any of her "luck" in the marriage department so she cashes it in for tags. She drew a ewe tag for the first year it was offered in the unit. Before the hunt we spent a hot summers day helping with a couple guzzlers to just do a good deed and also learn a bit about the...

Been hearing from a few teams that got in. Anyone here make the cut?

    Wild horses/BLM land

Stop calling feral horses "wild" would be a good step. Tough to see the damage they do and knowing that it is going to get much worse before any changes are made.

    Utah youth elk hunt

Will you be able to able to scout? The archery hunt ends right before the youth and has unlimited tags. It has been increasing in popularity as other tags become harder to draw. I hope you and the boys have a great hunt.

    Vision detection technology for hunting

There is already something similar https://thehuntscan.com/ Not surprisingly out of utah. Also google has some software developed to recognize animals in trail cam pics. They even have a commercial about it for a snow leopard study. Personally I really wish stuff like this and FLIR would be...

    SFW auction

MDF and UWSF had theirs over the last couple weeks. RMEF has there within the next week or so. I've barely missed out on some of the cheaper tags, by a couple decimal points

    BHA Rendezvous 2020

Went two years ago and it was a great time. Hopefully they can get some good campfire stories recorded this year. I hear that the password to join the virtual rendezvous will be scanning the label of a local craft brew.

    Backcountry hot tips request

Backpacking in UT I carry my muzzy in a solo hunter rifle case as much as I can. Have Not endured significant amounts of rain but will keep whole gun dry as long as everything stays upright.

    YouTube Video Blunders

How about wildlife violations that are accessed due to evidence in a YouTube video. Sad but unfortunately not surprising how the facebook, youtube and Instagram are the best tools a warden has these days. As a side note shows what a tight ship randy runs with having so much content out there.

    Family backpacking tent

If you go floorless you will need to get a nest for when the wife and kids are along. Mosquitoes rarely bite me so I dont think about them that much but took kids to the mountains in a kifaru tut and had to spray them down and try to smoke the mosquitoes out of the tent and they still got...

    Favorite back country tent stakes

Msr groundhogs for the corners and doors. Msr mini groundhogs for mid panel stake loops. I get mine at an outlet store locally that are knockoffs and just as good.

    Bighorns, Bears, and Bad Blood

It amazes me that no one has opened up on a herd of domestic in a conflict zone. perhaps because the type of person to do that isn't aware of the conflict in the first place

    Bighorns, Bears, and Bad Blood

He's not the first rancher to threaten wild sheep with disease in order to get his way.

    Elk cold weather.

I think they will stay high for the most part. It's my understanding that the grasses elk favor are affected like a forb that deer favors when it is subjected to frost. But I have seen a few inches of snow move elk out if it warms and freezes into a hard crust.
