Great write up! Enjoyed having you guys in camp. The liver dinner was amazing.
I'm pretty picky who I will hunt with and I would be honored to share a camp and hunt with you guys again!
Good news for st Regis on a mill. Hopefully they'll be able to get logs. Will depend on the next governor. Could keep busy from Idaho logs. Other than private sales I don't see much coming out of MT with current leadership.
Not to mention that all of our mills are gone. Not just shut down, but gone. Sold to Canada piece by piece to be set up and run there. Meanwhile we burn our forests causing us to live in smoke all summer long while incurring millions of dollars in bills to MANAGE these fires. Simply stupid...
40 years ago we had more license hikers hunting, yet it was easy to go hunting and not see another hunter. Today it is nearly impossible to do so. Far less access to public lands now than then funneling hunters into the same areas. If anybody thinks that Bullock and the rest on his team are...
I think MT income per capita compared to the rest of the nation has been on the decline since the early 70's. We were once in the top 10 states. Last I heard we are 49th. Ahead of Alabama.
The public sector jobs that are paid for by the private sector should have seen a proportional decrease in wages to what the private sector has suffered. Not just a freeze on cost of living increases.
While the citizens in the private sector are facing huge declines in income, layoffs, and on average significantly lower wages and benefits than those working in the public sector collecting their wages from the private sector? Is this whatyou are talking about?
Gotcha. Please point out where I am wrong about the lack of industry in MT. Or where I am wrong about where alliances with anti hunting and anti 2A are. If I am wrong about anything I am willing to stand corrected.
I am new here so will try and tread lightly. After reading this entire thread I am surprised at the number of sportsmen that think the Democrat party that is firmly aligned with animal rights groups, that are demanding the end of hunting, as well as anti gun groups demanding the end of our...
Nosler shows a max load of 71g rl22 and a vel of 3574 fps with their 100g bullets. Nosler data is generally pretty optimistic. You are at a top end load for sure since the Barnes will create pressure faster than conventional lead core bullets.

Ha! You are loafing them along! Your brass will last forever. That is how fast we run the 116g Sledge Hammer in our 7" twist 257 wby. Still plenty to do the job past 500y. We took a muley last fall with that bullet from a 25x47 Lapua at 500y. Starting vel of just over 3300 fps.
What vel are you getting with the 92g Hammer Hunters? I can guess but I can say this combo will be good medicine for most things with legs father than most will shoot.

Sounds good. Give me a day or so advance that you are coming so I have your order ready when you get here.
I also want to give Norma MRP a try. That is another powder that seems to just work well every time I try it.
