I have hunted that unit with some friends and hunted the border near it back in 2009. I have some areas I have seen nice deer in 42. I haven't spent a whole lot of time around the Oregon border, except scouting for antelope. I'll shoot you a pm.
I drew an extra doe tag, wife drew extra doe and cow elk, and daughter drew a buck tag and extra doe tag. Should be a busy fall, I plan on archery elk hunting and general rifle hunting for deer. Lets hope Idaho doesn't burn this year!
Matt- I bet your buck will generate 10-20% more people putting in for it. It is a great buck and serious archery hunters may take notice and apply. Are you going to hunt OTC in a bordering unit this year?lol
Good luck to everyone, hope we know in 3 weeks or so.
Orofino, Riggins, Salmon are all nice areas of Idaho. Picking depends on what type of area you want to live in and how close or not you want to be to civilization.
My wishes were not made into what I wanted based on my comments and others that I know commented similarly, but that was for OTC tags.
I was happy to see some changes on draw tags that I was hoping a majority would be in favor of. Now I just have to wait to apply and get drawn. I hope 2015...
I have had mine for 4 years. I love it, the only thing I regret is getting it calibrated to start at 100 yds, I should have gone to 200. It tracks real well and stops one click after it is set to 100 yds.
I have a VX-2 that is not set up for CDS, but plan on sending it in when I buy my next...
Very odd to register and comment on a 2 year old post. It seems in my experience with "Chapter of name your organization" leaders, the ones looking for acceptance/importance, usually have a narrow view of what they are supporting.
Will it be another 2 years before he comes back and replies...
I agree, the best. They might be finally realizing that this is the opportunity, hunters have been asking/wanting. I might have to rearrange a lot of my out of state hunting opportunities, if Idaho keeps this up.
