    Just purchased a 1894 win 25-35.

Yeah I definitely gonna shooter first. Anybody know if the older 94 shoot cast boolits well. That's one reason I may want to reline the bore if they don't. But I don't have a whole lot of experience with these old lever boolit slingers.

Thanks. I would love to take a pronghorn with mine if I could ever draw a tag. Sweet gun also.

    Kimber rifles and full bedding

I had just the opposite with horizontal stringing. I think I would try the business card pressures point trick. And if that don't help mabey do a cheap full length bedding with JB weld. Other than that I would suggest a better stock.

    Just purchased a 1894 win 25-35.

Very good info with some absolutely beautiful work. Thank you for sharing that. I'm along ways away from getting the oven for cch. There's a youtuber that has started his own gunsmithing shop. Called the cinabar. He did a 22 receiver but he did not give any details on how he got his colors. I...

    Kimber rifles and full bedding

If the hunters are anything like the montana's. I would check magazine box pinch. That won't help if it has a removable magazine. Also check the screw lengths and see if they are to long and bottoming out before they tighten all the way down. For the scope mounts and the recoil lug screw. And a...

    Just purchased a 1894 win 25-35.

Thank you for your input BrentD. I bought the gun off gun broker so I really don't know how bad the wood is oil soaked. I asked but he just said that it probably had some. I have 3 days to look it over before signing for it. I would like to keep it a 25-35 cartridge because I already have a...

    Just purchased a 1894 win 25-35.

I just purchased a 1894 26" oct barrel chambered in 25-35 made in 1902. The rifle finish is gone wood is dark. The seller says the action is tight no buggerd up screws in shooting condition. Bore is fair to poor. I want to do a restoration on this. I paid 850.00 for the rifle. Anybody know if...

Dog Bite While Packing Bull Out

detectives are on scene at the 700 block of Sylvan Road near Shelby Forest State Park, where at about 3:30 pm two family dogs attacked a 2-year-old girl, a 5-month-old boy, and their mother in the home. The children were pronounced deceased on the scene. And this is why I wouldn't hesitate to...

    Stupidest thing you've done reloading

Well the #18 mess screen works at separating the 4350 from the 4831sc. It's not near 100% but none of the 4831sc falls thru the screen. About 70% of the 4350 will fall tru and 5% gets stuck in the mesh with the rest to large to pass thru. If I can save just 60% of the powder I'm happy. I hate...

Dog Bite While Packing Bull Out

I don't give aggressive dogs passes anymore. Been bit trying to get a pitbull to release his jaws off my gsp while hiking. Been charged by pitbull after it escaped from the owners front door and put a boot in it's face while trying to get my concealed handgun out but winter gloves and a coat...

    Southern UT Muzzleloader

Congratulations on your first mulely. Yup the general deer and elk hunts in UT Is a pumpkin patch anymore. Whole lot more people than the 70's and 80's It sure would be nice just to walk in the grocery store and buy a deer tag the day before hunting season. But on the bright side I've still got...

Nope not legit. Alot of scammers especially for primers. Stay away from anybody that won't take debit or credit cards.

    Stupidest thing you've done reloading

Not for me I just spent another 225 dollars on 2lbs of H 4350 and 2 lbs of H 4831 sc. I can't help it. It's an addiction. If I just bought factory ammo I only shoot at game the whole season maybe 5 rounds. But with reloading your always trying different bullets primers and powder even when I...

    Stupidest thing you've done reloading

Well I just ordered some #18 mesh screen. The imr 4350 is .04 dia the H4831sc is .045 dia. The mesh is .041 don't know what the variation is in screen and all the kernels of powder. But I'm gonna try sifting it before I turn $300.00 of powder in fertilizer. Lesson learned don't have multiple...

    Kimber rifles and full bedding

What I've noticed was that a full length bed makes the rifle alot more picky about the loads it likes. The 270 Montana would group the 130 gr accubonds great but the loads before full length bedding would group worse. The only thing I can say is try it. Worse case is you sand it back out. Take...

Quality "Available" bullets to reload for my Savage M110 in .270 Win?

Love the 140 btsp cheap good bc and they hold together out of a 270 wsm hitting mule deer and elk at 150 yrds. Complete pass throughs. In Hornady s reloading manual they list a fraction more bc than their 140 gr sst bullets. Don't know if that's true or not as it don't really matter to me as I...

    Stupidest thing you've done reloading

Well after looking at h4831sc & imr 4350 under a 10x Lupe for 2hrs. I can tell you absolutely positively H4831sc has a golden green tint too it and it's shorter than imr 4350. Huh Go figure. Who would have guessed? This sucks!
