The Wyoming wind finally did it in this past labor day.
I almost bought another one, but learned it's 22oz heavier than today's options.
Ask yourself some of these questions:
Does length of season matter?
Amount of tags available?
Driving distance?
Cost?
Type of terrain you want to hunt?
Time of year?
Style of hunt?
Weapon?
Trophy potential?
Game numbers / density?
I just haven't seen the kind of market returns I see quoted here (10-13%) consistently over the last 20 years. Feels like a lot of "if you had put all your money in the best possible place" but you wouldn't have known the answer to that at the time.
I was able to get Ada out to look for birds yesterday. First stop when intended to hunt was temporarily closed when we arrived, which put us a little behind schedule, so our next spot already had a group working it. We found some corners that looked like they had promise, but were unable to turn...

As a resident, my instinct is:
5 > 6 > 4 > 3 > 2 >1
I feel like many residents will either have their "spot" or will self-regulate the pressure based on other hunters, meaning it is less necessary to control where they go. NRs are more likely to flock to certain areas based on past reports and...

Oklahoma 2023 thoughts
I need to stop whining. I'm lucky I got to go.
There were definitely more people than last year, but we were a week later. Some of the people were quail hunters.
We really felt like, based on the sign, the deer were there, they just weren't moving in daylight. Many days...
