Hey everyone,
The wife and I both drew the keep tag for the Upper Missouri Paddlefish this year. I grew up over by intake so I've fished for the paddlefish many times on the Yellowstone but this will be my first time fishing for them on the Upper Missouri. The question I have is should I bring...
Trip reports are great and most people on here enjoy them. I think the main thing to leave out is the unit you were in, especially if its a general unit. Probably would also leave out the region, most people familiar with the state will be able to tell the greater region your in from your...
Ive gotten more and more into over the last couple years. Honestly watching it almost more than NFL anymore, NFL has so many stupid rules now and not to mention the amount of adds and commercial breaks. Yes UFC you have to pay for the fight card but then its basically add free.
Back to...
Interesting. I guess I'll have to do some more digging. Its really not too feasible to go there in person right now due to snow. You'd think onX would want the trail data they show to be accurate.
Hey all,
I was hoping you guys could help clarify some confusion. I'm having trouble with trying to figure out if "forest service trails" onx shows are actually indeed open for use. I'm looking at an area that has a fair amount of checkerboard (not the crazies) and onx shows a few different...
Quite a ways back when I was high school my brother drew arguably the most coveted breaks rifle tag with zero points. At the time I had no idea how lucky he was. He ended up getting a pretty good one but that was 15 years ago. To this day it’s still one of my favorite hunts to look back on...
If I had a breaks tag I would set a goal of a bull in the 320-330 range. From what I have seen in the breaks in th last few years that’s realistic goal IF A PERSON HAS THE TIME. And by time I think a minimum of 10 days. I’ve seen nothing bigger than that though. Again depends how many points you...
With all due respect and out of curiosity do you spend much time in the breaks every year? At least enough to qualify saying don’t pass up a 250 bull? Realistically from what I’ve seen if a person has time to dedicate to almost any of the breaks units they can with no hesitation pass all of the...
I grew up in eastern mt but now live in western mt. I have gone back to the east side to hunt deer the last few years. After what I saw and experienced last year I am not going back until something changes. There were so many people it was unreal. Not just on the roads, but way back in too. we...
In my onion it largely depends on type/quality of land. if you have 2-300 acres of irrigated land with good grass you can raise a cattle and thus have a ranch. However normally in my opinion the term "ranch" becomes appropriate once you have a full section.
If I had a dollar for every time I talked to a person who just moved to Montana who called their "property" a ranch I could buy a teener of beer at the very least. I want to say back to them you mean "hobby farm"? I then however remember they are paying me to work on their property so I smile...
I wish that hank would have expanded more on the 454 selection process for choosing public hunters that get to go onto the private. He said the landowner picks one for every two the department picks and that was about it. He never talked about what their selection process looks like other than...
