Agreed! Driving from Elk Mountain to Rock Springs I counted 10. Normally I wouldn't be out of sight of a herd somewhere. A few more between Rock Springs and Pinedale. And a few between Thermopolis and Cody. I've never seen anything like it. Driving from Pinedale to Dubois over Union Pass we saw...
Absolutely get the wolf tag! I got skunked on my north slope hunt for caribou, but I came back with a wolf because I bought the tag. Killed him opening day of wolf season. On a trip like that, you don't want to NOT be able to take advantage of whatever opportunity presents itself.
I'm not sure what decision you're referring to, as it would seem to fly in the face of WS 24-9-101, which clearly lays out the procedure to secure access to landlock properties. As I'm pretty sure I've spent many more tens of thousands of dollars than just about anyone on this forum to get...
It also costs a lot of money for surveying and for the easement itself. They do have to grant you an easement, but they don't have to do it for free. And they can make you pay many $10000s in engineering/attorney fees before you actually get the easement.
Drew a decent deer tag and a buck antelope tag. Missed again (for the 11th year in a row) on my elk draw. Also, no dice for either of the two doe/fawn antelope tags I put in for. But in typically fashion, my wife continues to draw any and all antelope tags that she puts in for 😁
We had one stop by on 5/7 (east of Larami, WY), but haven't seen anymore since. I think he called his buddies and told them to wait a couple weeks until it actually warms up!!
Of course I'll never have enough points to draw this area,
but still cool to see. My 9-yr old spotted them first (he insists on being credited for his spot).
Good luck finding any place in the SE part of the state to hunt whitetail on public land. I've killed plenty of whitetail outside of Wyoming, but it's a tall order unless you have a line on some private ground along a river/creek.
