An Antelope unit that costs ~7 preference points should not be bad at all. For one, that unit only issues about 150 type 1 tags, compared to the 500 issued by the unit I hunted in. Additionally, the deer season in Antelope Unit 66 (which is Deer unit 160) does not start until mid-October, so you...
Ah, the infamous inflation calculator. Now, instead of thinking about corner crossing, I am fretting about the imminent death of fiat currency, the future of America's economy, and the long-term effects our economic struggles will have on the World. Thanks a lot, RobG.
Well, I appreciate the answer, but that really stinks. I hate that so many publicly owned lands are not accessible to the people who (supposedly) own them.
As long as no one stepped on the (Complainant's) private property, this should NOT be ruled as trespassing. The complainant is clearly trying to block access to publicly owned lands.
Like Bob-WY, it will be my 2nd year as a resident. I'll try for several Antelope tags, since I now know how great they taste.
Might put my wife in the draw for deer and/or antelope, she has never killed either (she is from AK).
I hope to get back into bow hunting 2022, haven't done it for 3...
I'm sorry, I have no idea what a cow elk trespass fee goes for (it should not be more than a couple hundred dollars, it is just a meat tag). Adam should definitely know how much the fees are going for, though.
I was there for Antelope less than two weeks ago. You will want to hunt as far North and West inside that unit as you can. I saw lots of Elk on the private land on the North side of the unit, but they were all staying on (private) croplands. If it was me, I would call the new warden Adam, and...
I believe that it is important to share info on this forum, and not just collect it, so here is a report on my first season Antelope hunting in Wyoming. I am hoping that Antelope beginners will glean some info from my story, even if it is a bit depressing. Feel free to PM me for more advice, but...
Cheyenne has some (Sportmans and Jax), but that is about a 2 hour drive for you. Not much variety sitting on the shelves, mostly the expensive stuff. You know the story.
Keep at it, Matt. If you can find out where the turkeys are roosting, you'll have all the info you need to bag one. They tend to return to the same roosts right before dark, unless the roost is disturbed. With that in mind, don't sit within 200 yards of a roosting tree, unless you are willing to...
Welcome from WY! You'll be "contributing" in no time if you look for questions that you can answer. Just jump in and be nice, even to the occasional dingle-berry. ;)
No problem and good luck! Find a stream or river bottom with lots of tall brush growing in it, and wait until dark. I think you'll be surprised at the places that Whitetails live in Wyoming.
Jim, if you'll be anywhere around Kaycee Wyoming, you might send me a message when you get up here. My group will be hunting in the area for Pronghorn in October ( I'm guessing you'll be coming in November?). I may be able to help put you guys on a good WT spot, although I am not sure which Type...
